I have no idea what 'kind' it is, no flowers yet, and my neighbor chopped down all of his trees, leaving the poor things out in the sun all day.

If they're not happy with the extra sun exposure then you're probably better off trying to move them, I think in your zone spring is the right time for planting/transplanting things so it should be OK as long as you're not expecting any more really cold weather, don't want to add transplanting stress to cold stress if you can help it.

Thanks ecrane, maybe I will wait and watch just a little while. This is Ohio, and while it is absolutely beautiful today we can wake to a whole new ballgame tomorrow, you can,t even fully trust the weather man around here sometimes. Thanks for the advice. I'll take heed.

Columbines don't always like to have their roots disturbed so when you dig them up it may be a good idea to dig a little ways around them and take a good chunk of soil out with them. That way you can move them without disrupting the roots.

If all else fails, d-mail me for a mix of Columbine seeds!! =^)
