I have some seeds from a hardy hibiscus that I would like to plant in coastal Georgia. When and how should I plant?
When to plant hibiscus seeds
you could take a chance and start some now outdoors. i sow mine in early spring indoors and put outside when they have a good root system and several leaves/branches. i nick mine and soak overnight in a cup on top of the fridge(warmth). plant 1/4" deep. i use miracle grow/perlite/vermiculite mix. keep moist not too wet. should sprout in a week or so. hope that helps!
Mountaingirl: I'm just 20 miles from you in Lake Toxaway. Would love to hear from you and see what you're growing and share info. Please e-mail me and don't forget your Dave's Garden I.D. name (mountaingirl). I get so much spam e-mail that I toss most of it without opening it and need to know it's you.
