This JMG is from a Japanese special Mix pack. The flower is average size 5 inches and looks silky. It's color is a very light pink and leaves are solid green. I haven't seen any thing like it before and it's stunning.

I must say that I'm partial to purples this year - is this maybe Hama Purple?

Very cute for a light lavender-ish color:

And if you get seeds from this, I'm in - even though it's not purple!

Syrumani, no this is not Hama Purple.

The Hama leaves are variegated and the Hama flowers are much larger.

I just love that Picotee.. it is beautiful..

and Yohaku beni.. wow, all of your flowers are really nice.

I've got some really nice flowers from your seeds.. one looks alot like that Picotee up there but without the white around it.. I think that is now my favorite... that was the first picotee bell shape that I've had and it is starting to hold it's pods.

Houston, TX

Hi Gourd and thanks for your comments. There are many more pictures to come but I need to edit them first.
I`m seeeing many different Picotee MG in solids, doubles and with white around the edges. They are nice looking. TTYL.

Well 2007 was a great growing season and I was able to catalog most of the JMG's names with pictures for future reference. I'm still harvesting seeds and taking pictures but next season I won't have to grow as much but we'll see.

My new work schedule and other things keep me from visiting here regularly but I mostly check in during the weekend and sometimes while at work.

This was not an easy project and if I was to do it again some things would be done slightly different. But it was fun and a learning experience.

I posted some of my pictures here. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/770011/

Very nice picture, Dee!

I can honestly say you did a great job with your project this year, and we all enjoyed the pictures you've shared with us. There are alot of people who have (and will) benefit from the information you passed on to us.

Hello:Dee the Yohaku Beni m.glory is pretty! Nice!photos.

Dee - I just started a Brazilian MG and would love to see what yours looks like now (or if you have some photos you took when the vine got large and was blooming). Such an interesting vine indeed! YOU had an amazing growing season this year! WOW!!!! 400 MG!!! I was having trouble keeping 20 straight with photos and IDing! I don't know how you did 400 vines! You make me want to pass out from the very thought of that many growing at one time! LOL! BTW - I love the livestock fencing up against your yard wall. I would love to see what it looks like all lush with vines! :-)

Houston, TX

Thanks Skimper and Beckygardener,

This picture is a Brazilian MG, Ipomoea Satosa. The thorns are soft and this plant grows very fast. It also will climb and take over anything its long vines can reach. The plant also has a nice fragrance too.

enjoy,

Dee

Thank you, Dee! I was really curious about the Brazilian MG! I didn't know that it had a fragrance. That's a plus! I have a single vine growing in a big pot all by itself. I am amazed at those soft thorns! Quite an interesting vine! I was warned that it would become a large sprawling vine! :-)

I grew Joyce Cobb for the first time this year. It started off slow and then all the sudden just went crazy with those big heart-shaped leaves. I didn't think it would ever bloom and then all the sudden it's loaded with flowers! Another one that is just trying to take over everything!!! LOL! Love it!

These two are exactly what I am thinking of growing along my backyard fence! Something that will bloom and cover an area with lush growth! :-)

Houston, TX

Beckygardener,

If you ask me I'd say those are two good choices that will have lush growth.

I took this picture this morning of Fukurin.JMG. These are great plants if you don't want vines and they grow vertical. TTYL.
