Hi Dee,

We are happy to see you back here. Those flowers are very pretty. I was going to take some pictures of new blooms this morning from the special mix but the hard rain made it impossible.

Recently, I got a nice surprise from the special mix. It was a cute bright purple split petal. I`m delighted with this one. The leaves are shaped rounded at the edges and curved.

I look forward to your continued posting of updates!

Very nice flowers, it is going to be something in your part of the world when they all bloom.. with the amount you are growing you will be very busy taking photos, documenting etc.. we will all be waiting for pictures here.

Hey Karen and Gourd,

This is one of many that I'm watching mutate. It's Cha-Cha Maru going thru some type of mutation. Notice one of the top leaves is twistings and at the base of the plant the leaves are narrow and pointed. So far only two of the leaves appear normal. Also it's not growing vines like my other ChaCha Maru plants.

I have a few other strange mutations going on which I will post here later.

Looking forward to some pics...

This is one of several mutants that I have growing. A very interesting plant in itself. I am very happy with how this project turned out. We have collected over 800 pictures from various JMG and some new items from the first local MG festival a few weeks ago.

Answers to some of your old questions about JMG here have presented itself. There are many distinct differences in the Japanese morning glories that I'm aware of and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know.

The MG presentation we did at the local university went as expected.

I will post my work here when I have a secure way of doing it since copyright doesn't mean anything here on Daves. TTYL

Arlan, no problem and looks like your season is interesting as well.

We had a few unknown items to pop up and lots of surprise ones too but I'm not complaining. The work is on going and we still have lots more to do. TTYL.

This is JMG Hanafubuki one of my favorites.

The vines will grow long and the leaves are different looking from other MG plants with simular flowers characteristics.

Hi Dee,
Great Vines going.
This one I really like
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=3692453

On the Hawaiian Woodrose, you won't believe how large the leaves will get, and they feel like velvet.

I'm pretty sure that I also sent you Merremia Vitofolia seeds.

Thanks for sharing, now for some more of your incredible blooms.

Hi Dee,

I`m very pleased with the mutant morning glories. My husband is getting bitten by the morning glory bug too. He came out and saw some of the mutants this morning and he is sold on growing these as a hobby. It is the best way to spend the summer I think.

Karen

Houston, TX

Karen, thanks and yeah it`s a nice way to fill a void. The sun flowers seeds you sent me are growing tall.

Hey, we had a Bar-B-Q party this past sunday and I spiced up some chicken and seafood using the seasoning that you guys sent me a while back. We had a great time and our glories were frequently admired.

The mutant blooms should look like the one in this picture. So we`ll see. TTYL

Lovely!

This JMG is a solid Purple Picotee or Platycodon type flower. It doesn't have white around the edges. The blooms are 3-4 inches and the leaves are solid dark green.

At the moment I'm not sure about this one but when I saw it growing with my picotee's I put a bamboo stick for it to grow on. The plant is about 7 feet tall and has large heart shaped leaves.
It may be Joyce Cobb but I'll check around and see.
