At least that's what I think it's called. This plant seemed to be thriving and now in the last couple of weeks the new leaves are turning yellow and dying.
This is when it was healthy:
Monstera Deliciosa (Swiss Cheese Plant)
Waaaahhhh....
MsKatt: Yes, it is Monstera Deliciosa ... your plant may just need more humidity. You could try misting it daily. Here's the link to Plant Files for your plant:

Thank you, plantladylin. I had read that before and so I began misting it a few weeks ago. I was afraid to do it everyday...I'll try that now. :)

Does that pot have any drainage? That could also be an issue.
Yes, the plant is in a pot that sits inside the decorative metal pot.
What do you find when you take it out of the pots?
Hi MsKat,
Are you using city tap water that is treated with chlorine if so you may have the same problems I was having. I talk to a biologist at the University where I attend he told me that since I live in town with city water that is treated with chlorine, that I need to put water in clean milk jug and let it set 24 to 48 hours before using it to water my plants for then the chlorine will be broke down and the carbon monoxide with be increased and your houseplants with will do better with city treated tap water.
SallyG, I haven't had a chance to get it out of the pot yet, maybe this weekend when I get DH to help me.
Ghostnurse, I had read that on this forum before so I always let my water sit for at least 24 hours. My kids think I'm nuts because of my milk jugs sitting around. ;)

I bought a montera at wal-mart this winter to save it from sure death and it was so root bound i just had to save it! Well, i reptted it after cutting away some dead roots and since i got it in january has now put about 7 new leaves and is getting thick aerial roots on the stems. It is now one of my favorite houseplants. Very easy to grow!
I had a plant maintenance company for 10 years. This is my standard spiel........
Think of the color yellow - and where its showing up on the plant - yellow = water - easy association is: urine is yellow urine is water
The Rule: (remeber there are always exceptions to the rule)
If the yellow is showing up in the mid vein the plant is overwatered - you follow this up with the finger test (more later)
the roots are drowning and they are shoving the excess water up to the leaves - the plant knows that it can rebound if the roots live - think of it as a survival mechanism.
If its showing up first along the leave edges its under watered - its pulling water out of the leaf to again protect the roots. Again follow up with finger test.
What I think you have occuring is a little of both drought, drown due to the fact that it looks like WAY to much plant for the size of pot. You should only have to water once a week (prefereably the same day every week) if you have to water more then that its time to transplant. Does that make sense? In other words you are probably watering it enough to last a week but for the first couple of days its drowning (the roots breathe) then the next couple its just right and then the next couple drought...........
Always follow up with the finger test certain plants figs and ferns especially think they are above the rules and do whatever they darn well like.
Finger Text: stick you finger all the way in and pull out a little soil now RUB for moisture (cold and wet feels the same do not just stick your finger and dicide RUB for moisture) you want that top 2" or so to be completely dried out before you water again........
So forgive the long post, I think you just need to pot it up rember no more then 2' or you will have a different set of problems. OK maybe JUST on that plant you could go 4" because they are fast growers. Like I couldn't just say so at the beginning and save you all the time and effort.........
