Nah... I got angry, swore at it, then left the country without even telling it. Aren't I mean?
(I'm not from Texas)
What plants to use around my small patio?
Clearly.
>grin< ...
And now, for the rest of the story......
Ah-hem... Okay, the story is that I'm writing to you from England at the moment. The patio is being cared for by a very reliable Patio Sitter in our absence. Sheesh. It's not easy to find one in my price range.
wrightie....are you going thru garden withdrawl?
Well... yes and no... The up side is that everywhere you look in England, you see magnificent gardens and gain tons of ideas to take back home. The local garden centre is nicer than any I've ever seen in the States.
But... the down side is that I'm here because my MIL passed away on Sunday, so I will be tending to her garden a bit while over the next two weeks we sort out what to do with the house. UGH.
Oh, poor wrightie and poor wrightie's DH. There's lots of fun shopping to be had in England. Have fun, if you can.
xxx, Carrie
Thanks, Carrie. So far this trip has consisted of lots of time in a hospice facility and sorting out funeral arrangements, but I did at least manage to pick up a few things from M&S the other day. I'm not leaving without a shopping spree at my favorite garden centre - books, seeds, and garden widgets. (it's not for me, it's for my lonely little patio)
Funeral is set for next Monday, then I'll spend the following week working on her garden and the estate.
xoxo

wrightie...so sorry for your loss...; i hope all goes well
we will keep your thread warm for you:)
ps...i am an estate liquidator....; the first mistake alot of people do when someone passes is to start tidying up....ie they start trashing stuff....; paperwork and the like; alot of that paperwork sometimes is more valuable than some of the estate ...
as for the garden....well you need to dig that up immediately and send it to texas...(grin)
Honey, I think you should keep the house and rent it out to visiting friends.... >evil, self-serving grin< ...
pagan...to heck with renting it out....just let us come visit for a while:)
Ya know... as a matter of fact, we are seriously considering keeping the house as an investment property. We're still working all of that out.
Thanks for the tips, Sticks. Fortunately, we haven't trashed anything yet and the papers, photos, etc. are being well looked after. I appreciate the advice and I'll pass it along!
The Royal Mail should be delivering your garden to you by COB Friday - Enjoy.
COB?
Wrightie, you should have seen the cat fight these caterwauling Texans got into while you were gone. Scratching and hissing like animals! We would not have been amused.
I have free passes for four to Heathrow... when would be convenient for you?
xxxx, Carrie
carrrrrriiieeee... you know I'm your best frieeeennnnnddd...
Yeah, right. You sound like one of my two whiny daughters, who will be accompanying us on our trip to--- wait--- do you have asthma, or any food allergies, or peculiarities? Do you say things like "are we there yet?" or whisper "Mommy, I'm starving. Can I just go to the hotel gift store and get a candy bar? Yes, Mom, I know we just ate, but" A.(16 years)" there wasn't anything I could ea-ea-ea-eat" or B.(13 years) "there was nothing I li-i-i-i-i-iked"? Do you have a valid passport?
Hmmm (weighing in her mind).... BL..... whiny daughter... BL..... whiny daughter..... BL..... whiny daughter....BL..... whiny daughter... BL..... whiny daughter..... BL..... whiny daughter BL..... whiny daughter... BL..... whiny daughter..... BL..... whiny daughter.... BL..... whiny daughter... BL..... whiny daughter..... BL..... whiny daughter
