Johnny's Seed Cutomer Info Stolen

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

I received a letter from them yesterday saying that someone got in and stole all their customer info including credit card info. I decided to cancel my card and get a new one. What a hassle with all sorts of garden goodies on order, but some of the the vendors haven't charged me yet.

I called them just in case -- only a relatively small percentage of their customers were compromised, and she said they'd alerted everyone whose credit card was in any danger. If you haven't gotten a letter from them, you're okay, unless of course the USPO dropped that particular ball. They are taking action on it. Just make sure and check your credit card statements!

I make it a point to check my credit transactions every few days. I am able to access my account online and verify right away that all charges are legit. A neighbor recently had a $900.00 charge and didn't learn about it until her statement came and it had been there for almost 4 weeks. It has to be easier to catch thieves and restore your credit if you notice the theft right away.

Thanks for posting this. I just got their catalog the other day from where I had bought from them before. Do they have have a list of all those names that were comprimised or do they only from who has problems as the complaints come in?

I received a letter from them and in an earlier post someone said that only the customers who received a letter were compromised. I don't know how a hacker can pick and choose and being a naturally suspicious person, I would be watching my account very closely. I'm still waiting for my new card. What a pain.
