Laughing at myself.

A few weeks ago I was frantically searching for some small pots to transplant some hibiscus seedlings in and couldn't find enough so I had to double them up. I then put an ad on Craigs Lists begging for peoples plastic pots they didn't want and got no answers .. i guess it was too early.

This morning I decided to clean out my shed.

Needless to say .. I don't need any more pots.

LOL - that's fabulous!!! I've been begging, borrowing, even stealing (well, not quite) pots from friends, neighbors, the garden center I frequent the most. I have so many things to divide and no place to put them right now. Plus my friend and I are having a plant sale in June so I need pots for that, too! This picture was taken looking from the guest room window down to the little potting area - it doesn't even begin to show how many as they are stacked under the table, in front of it, to the side of it, etc.!!

I have plant sales in April for the neighborhood .. i sell plants like sunflowers, marigolds, hibiscus, zinnia and tomato plants. Since I am always using small plastic pots I plant the stuff that's going to be sold in paper cups.

Great idea!! Last year all of mine were divisions of existing plants and I have at least 150 things potted up now (lots of 4" plastic pots I got from the garden center and friends). This year I hope to have lots of plants started from seed.

My DH used most of my extra gal. pots to pot up tomato seeds. Used the 5 gal. buckets to put blackberry plants in. LIZ

I just used up 22 of my gallon pots today - I'm so proud of myself!!! I divided up a Daylily (Strawberry Candy - rebloomer) - I'd dug it up a week or so ago and had it in a bucket of water, hoping I'd be able to just separate it. NOT. I had to chop it apart!! I think they'll all make it.
