I live in central Florida and am going to plant a passilfora suberosa that is about 6 inches tall.
What kind of soil mixture does it like - compost, sand, etc? Also, can it take full morning sun
till noon and then mostly shade rest of day? Is it a slow grower? I understand the zebra butterfly prefers this particular passifora to lay its eggs on - is that true? Any information would be helpful.

In some places this is considered a weed so I don't think you will have problems growing it. :)

Habitats:
Moist forests and pinelands.

Soils:
Moist, well-drained sandy or limestone soils, with or without humusy top layer.

Drought Tolerance:
High; does not require any supplemental water once established.

Light Requirements:
Light shade to full sun.


Sounds like your spot is just perfect for it.
