Simply superb shot Janet. =)

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

It's a great subject! I tried to get it without a grotty background, it's difficult when it's buried in the greenhouse!

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Well hey, you got my air conditioner unit for background atmosphere on my glads. We are bulb growers that live in the REAL world I think--lol--the pretty shots mainly go for the "website" or PlantFiles. ;)

By the way--both of those definitely need to be in the PlantFiles; as well as that crocus Prins underneath those shrubs up above--I'm to lazy to copy the post #; but I know you understand which one I'm talking about. =)

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

I have a Prins Claus from last year in PF, but it's got more flowers now.

I haven't looked to see what Frit pics are in PF, but yes I think they shoudl go in, good enough wihtout the pretty background!

Hyacinthus orientalis 'Menelik' with Narcisuss 'Grand Primo' and muscari with -- taken Mar 10, but I just got around to noticing this photo.

Oh Chris: Good for you! My muscari bloomed ahead of all my narcissus and I'd hoped so much to have the two simultaneously. That's a gorgeous shade of blue hyacinth.

Los Altos, CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks, Deb. The hyacinth is 'Menelik' an heirloom that I got some years ago from OHG, named after a legendary King of Ethiopia . It is so dark blue/purple that it is nearly black.

I have really loved looking at all the beautiful first blooms in everyone's gardens. Thank you for posting them.

Here are my first tulip blooms (Fosteriana Pirand). They have certainly brightened my winter spirits. Thank goodness that Spring is finally here and once again the gardens will burst with color again.

Ghia: Lovely tulips they have there! Thanks for the pics. I love tulips...but so do "my" squirrels.

This is the first bloom of this variety for me. I'm pretty sure is "Carlton". Taken late this afternoon with the sun behind.

Ghia--thanks for posting that great walk through the botanical gardens. I really am struck by the narcissus 'Border Legend' interplanted with what I can only assume is ornamental grasses. Very interesting interplanting suggestion.....it has me thinking.

Nice Carlton Deb!

Wow! Wow! And triple WOW! Thank you, ghia_girl for posting all those gorgeous photos! What a lovely place! I wonder what they plant there in the summer? Have you been to the Bontanica Gardens during the summer and fall?

Deb - Your daff is lovely. I enjoyed the few I had while they lasted. Too short of blooming time. Wished they re-bloomed. I guess I should do staggered planting for longer blooming time. Next year!!! lol

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

Becky, no I have never been the summer or fall. We just bought a family membership, so it is in the plans. We did see a lot of hosta markers and daylilys. This is a picture of a weeping willow on the pond. I know it is not first blooms, but is just so pretty.

Oh! Lovely photo of the Willow. Please, if you do go this summer and take more photos, post them for all of us to see. I love daylilies, so that would definitely be something I'd love to see photos of!
