JanetS, I think your pale 6 petal flower is Ipheion uniflorum Spring Star Flower. Nice clump and I love that you have an iris from your Great aunt. Patti

Janet: I love daffs with grape hyancinths. For some reason, my gr. hyancints are blooming earlier than the daffs this year. :(
Steve: Great bunch of daffodils!

Ipheion uniflorum ‘Froyle Mill’ (Tristagma uniflorum) is the name of the six petal blue flowers...I had forgotten that I "found" them the other day and had to look it up again...lol they are very sweet and about two inches across...

Thanks I love Daffodils, here are some of the others I have blooming at this time...

uh oh. I bought 30 tulip clusiana from ebay seller rarebulbs and not a hint of them coming up. They were planted with daffs, which are blooming right now. pics later. I notice he's still selling 100 and 30 bulbs packs. Isn't it too late?

everybody's pics are lovely.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

My tulips are not up yet either, I think some things are really confused by our strange "end of Winter" weather.

Becky, sorry I didn't check this thread earlier. Glads are very easy out here in the SF Bay Area, as are dahlias. In fact, I consider glads, callas and crocosmia to be weeds -- impossible to get rid of, once established!

Don't forget to try hardy glads as well as the traditional glads -- a nice change!

here is a closeup of n. Replete. These are planted in my property located in z8. The center is not as pink as shown in catalogs, they are more peachy-like. No matter to me, I'm still thrilled they're so beautiful. I do have narcissus growing in my house in Houston, but not blooming yet. N. Pipit from last year are coming back (in Houston/Richmond)

Vossner, your Replete is much more interesting than the ones that are all peachy/pink with no yellow. I love the ruffled yellow in it. I reminds me of a well basted pink egg yolk that has just been broken. Very nice. Patti

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Vossner: That's really lovely!

Here's Daff. Sweet Sue, first one to really open so far. (A little dark; it was late when I got home.)

My goodness, your photos are making me drool!!! Y'all got some great plants. Beautiful flowers. Such show-stoppers!

My bulbs have all bloomed and wilted. Now just the usual flowers in my garden are coming up. I am waiting on my daylilies and Siberian Iris to bloom. But the show is over for me in my zone now. :-(

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

voss, your Replete looks flatter than mine were, but I did have some green on one, they are so variable. Yours is interesting and much nicer.

Deb, such a lovely rich colour Sweet Sue!

I went over the road last night to get some sunset pics, there's a couple of bunches of narcissus on the road side so I got a shot.

I got home from my vacation to find these little beauties blooming. They even beat the crocus. It's fabulous to leave for a couple weeks in the winter and come home to spring!

I don't think we got this one yet : Eranthis hyemalis.
I cannot show you the effect of a large group as I only have a couple of bulbs planted in a pot (because of lack of space).

Bonitin: what a pretty little thing! I don't think I've seen one before. Thanks!

I have so much enjoyed spring through all the photos you all have shared . It has finally come to my garden my first flower.

Such lovely photos! I love the blue flowers, gardengus. Are they Siberian Irises? I have planted some that haven't bloomed yet. They are mixed in a garden bed with some lemon yellow daylilies. I can't wait until they all bloom.

I can't get over the vivid colors of all of these first bloom Spring flowers! Sure wished they were repeat bloomers! :-)

Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

Iris reticulata-it grows from a small bulb. I don't know the other name I planted them years ago, they are always such a beautiful spring surprise.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Gardengus: Beautiful!

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

They are all lovely shots! I. reticulata is always a welcome show.

My Hyacinth Pink Queen have about fully opened, we had gale winds yesterday (and today), a plant fell on them but they are still OK.

Lovely deep blue Janet, do you know the name?

Narcissus Rip van Winkle

Thumbnail by wallaby1
Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

No, I afraid I do not know the names of my Hiacynths....I have some white, pink, and blue, and I think I got them in a mixed bag a long time ago...actually before I even realized they had names..LOL I didn't pay much attention to the names of things before 2004, when I got on Dave's...lol I was actually doing well to just know "what" they were ie. Tulip, Iris, etc. now of course I am labeling a lot of the newer things I put into my gardens, but most of what I receive from others is heirloom type iris or daylilies with no names known, just colors....lol

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Wallaby: I like that Narcissus. Very exotic-looking.

My Pansies are finally looking nice on the front porch...I love these colors, they had a terrible time with bugs, but now several of them are doing well..

My named Narcissus are beginning to emerge, they are not labeled, but they have names...lol I will try to find the names, here is the first one now...they smell lovely!

Another one "in my dreams" in this climate Janet! Quite lovely--and a "stocky" looking plant too--looks like it would hold up well to most of mother nature's sometimes abuses. Is it "finicky"? =)

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

I'm having trouble posting, lost the close up on this, then did one on the glad thread which couldn't be displayed, I refreshed and got back to this!

It's supposed to be finicky, but it seems to be happy as I've grown it so I will find out next year. It was planted in September I think.

I'm posting, then see if I can post a close up!
