Have just finished harvesting the Okra out of our small garden, thinking of planting Iris' in now. I am a true beginner at this and not real sure of myself with which plants will work for us. We live in the Cayman Islands. I have NO problems with Hibiscus, Clerodendrums, Aloe, assorted palms, but just not sure if Iris' will work here. It is hot and humid most of the time, the garden gets full sun almost daily. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.

Ideas on Iris
You might check into the Louisiana Iris as a possibility....Bearded Iris need cooler temps to do well, but are possible to grow also.

Both of these links will help show you the differences and what they have in common.
I live in NC but have good results with Iris. Just be sure to leave potatoe head exposed above ground as this is where new shoots start. They like the sun
