Why is this snail called the rosy wolf?
The rosy predator snail (Euglandina rosea Férussac)

LOOK ....... is Rosy Wolf a Good Snail ?
I've heard of snails like this before--in southern CA they sell decolette snails (probably spelled that wrong!) which eat other snails. But they're not allowed in northern CA for some reason and I'm not sure where else in the country they might be available. I'm not sure if they're the same thing as this one, Rosy Wolf is a much cooler name though!
The problem with introducing a non-native species to solve one problem is that they then create a host of other problems as they knock the eco-system out of balance. There are several good organic products on the market to deal with garden snail problems that will not wreak environmental havoc. EsgarGo and Sluggo are two that come to mind. A pet duck is another excellent way to get rid of the snails and slugs.
I think the article said Rosy Wolf was native to S.E. states ?
