fernleaf peony

I purchased a fernleaf peony last fall and planted it assuming it needed the winter cold treatment. I discovered a few days later it was growing???????? Can anyone give me some info on growing these that I was not informed about.............thanks much........plantlady98

and Hebron... you're way up at the border, right?

I know we've been having a very mild winter - I'm just west of O'Hare
but real cold snap now.

I also have a few plants (that are more sheltered and face the south)
that have started to grow and i'm hoping they'll be fine once it thaws.
