Ok guys - I want to start cuttings early... I know the Dallas Area awap will be the first week in November if we stay with the plans we made at the end of the last swap. Are there any other swaps/Round Ups in the works for this year?
Round Ups this year
Mitch, How funny that you should ask this, I asked Dave abou College Station and this is what he said
check out this thread; http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/687109/
Josephine.
Ok everyone....if we are going to have this roundup, we need to find a date that works for people. I'm thinking April since that is what we did last year. How do people's schedules look for April?
:) Kim
Go for it, Kim! How can I help?
Ann
Kim, thank you for stepping up to the plate, I will check my schedule for dates, and see what I can do to help.
Josephine.
I'll help too, Kim. The latter part of April would get us away from Easter on April 8.
Patricia
Thanks everyone for offering to help, I will do the best I can. I had so much fun with this roundup last year. Of the remaining dates in April, which works best....April 14, 21, or 28? Personally the 21 would be my least desired at this point because I have a 2-day conference in Houston right before that, but I can work around that.
:) Kim
Anytime works for me. My first choice would be 28th, tho. Closer to really warm weather. I'm tired of being cold....
Ann
April 28th works for me, too. :-)
Kim April 28th works for us too.
You might want to ask Dave how much the rental of the place is, and how far in advance the reservation needs to be made. Then you can decide how much each household needs to contribute to get that place reserved.
Josephine.

So how far is Bryan?
Mitch I am not sure, but from here I think it is about 150 miles.
According to Streets & Trips, the park is 180 miles from Red Oak, Mitch. I hope you can come! I'm planning on bringing my bunnies (and DH, too), so your little guy will have someone to play with if you bring him, too. :-)
Marylyn, you are really with it Girl.
Marilyn,
You have bunnies? What kind? dwarf?
I posted this on the other thread...
I'm just thinking of some of the events that might keep people from coming....
March 17 - Women of Faith National Conference in San Antonio
March 24 - Mercer Arboretum - March Mart
March 31 open
April 7 is the day before Easter
April 14 - Master Gardener State Conference in Kerrville
Anyway, those are all I know about. Others might have some other info that I don't have.
CJ, we are thinking about April 28, how does that sound?
Josephine
Hmmm.... I thought I posted that. Where did it go?
Yes, April 28 sounds good to me. Thanks for asking. (You know how badly I want to go, don't you?)
You posted over on Dave's Garden Forum CJ. This is one Mitch started on the TX Gardening Forum. I keep bouncing back and forth too. April 28th would be good for me.
Marylyn I love your cute little "bunnies"!!
Marylyn,
cute kiddos!!! they have lots of energy, eh? Check out my nieces and nephews...they live in Phoenix. Talk about bouncing and energy. OH my gosh! But they are extremely precious and I wish we could see them more than once per year.
Anyway, sorry to get off topic. But any excuse to show off my nieces and nephews. hehe.
When are we all going to get together here in Austin for a nursery tour? I think April is the most wonderful month of the year in Austin....so let's do it!
Michelle
Ooohhh...I want to go to that this year. I missed out last year due to class. This semester I don't have class on Monday or Friday, so perhaps I will get lucky and be able to go!
:) Kim
I'm looking forward to the Round Up. I'll probably just have one of my kiddos with me (my older one should be on a band trip to Padre). But that'll leave more room for plants.
April 7 th is the day of the Native Plant Sale in Boerne... I was thinking about doing a plant swap that afternoon after the plant sale...
Nada,...please tell those of us who don't know,...a little about the native plant sale in Boerne April 7th....sounds VERY interesting
Lee
Your nieces and nephews look like a fun bunch of bunnies, Michelle! :-)
it is put on by the cibilo nature conservatory. One every spring. This year April 7. usually 8 or 9 till 1 or 2. Lots of vendors with lots of native plants for sale. I go and sell my planters and garden treasures. I usually spend a LOT more than I make! *giggle
28th? Let em look and see what I can do that day..
Nada, I really want to come to yours also, but 2 long distance Roundups in one month is too much for us, we did that last year, but we would rather not this year, could you have on a different month?
Of course we are only two people, and you have to do what is best for you and the majority.
Just a thought.
Josephine.
Well....it sounds like April 28 is working for most people. I haven't found anything big going on in town or at the university that day. Shall we set the date?
Kim
April 28th is good for us!
Patricia
Please go ahead, Kim. I've written it on my calendar and I'm already getting excited. Yayyy!
Go for the 28th Kim, I am excited too.
Josephine.
Ok! The date is set! April 28 it is! Can we get this added to the sticky thread 'Calendar of Events'? Not sure how to do that....
:) Kim
dmail Roadrunner and Maggiemoo and they will get us on the correct calendars. :-)
I'll bring the barbecued pork butt and baked beans and ketchup and bread.
Ann
Thanks Marylyn! I'll send them d-mails.
:) Kim
Yay!!!
Come on Spring!!!
