Is there a metro station close to you??.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Sheran,
The metrolink stops right in downtown Orange. I will pick you up!

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

Or we could pick up on the way! Arlene, you will have enough to do without running to the train station!
~'spin!~

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Hey, it's about time you posted this for me to see Arlene. lol

I will be there for sure and will bring my favorite Baked beans.

Donna

Thanks, Donna

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Oh let me find out if my dad is going to celebrate his BD on that Sat. it is the 22nd and I`ll let you know. Sounds great, too bad it is so far from me but oh well. I have a couple good pot luck things, if they will travel well. hmmmmm? thanks, Dawn

San Diego & San Fran, CA(Zone 10a)

Hey tell me more about the garden party? We just get food and hang at your house kinda thing? Shoudl we bring stuff to exchange? Lemme know! I might metrolink up there...

-ellie

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Hi Ellie,
Sometimes people bring stuff if they have it but we mainly potluck and do garden talk. It varies from one time to another, depending on the time of year I hold it. Never a quiet moment with these guys.

If you metrolink, just let me know what time you get in to the Orange station and we'll have someone there to pick you up. Look at the first post for ideas what to bring. I will have bottled water here but if you want something different than that it will need to be picked up.

Hope you can make it.

Silverado, CA(Zone 9b)

TwinLakesChef,

I was told that there is a garden party and its right around the corner from me. I am a novice gardener and a fairly new DG member. It would be such an honor if I could show my face at your event. I can bring anything that you need.

I just live right around the corner from you in Silverado Canyon.

Love to hear back
~Sherri~

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Yea Sherri, you found the thread. I look forward to meeting you.

Now, I will get out my seeds and see what your interested in.

Donna

Silverado, CA(Zone 9b)

It seems that I have upset a lot of people with a post - sorry . Even though people do not know me personally, or dont know what really happened - people will make up their mind about someone. So unfortunately, my reputation has been ruined and I wont be able to meet all you nice people. If you met me in person - it would allow me to explain that it all was a misunderstanding and I ended up feeling attacked and just lashed out.

People are not perfect. And I should not have posted when I was upset.

Anyway - I hope you have a nice party.

Sherri

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Quyen and DaiseysAve have emailed me and may be able to attend!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Sherri, that's such a sad post. I'm sorry that happened to you but you should try to be with us anyway.
If I don't have my other plans, I'll be there! Sounds like it will be a bit bigger than the last one! I'll miss you guys but if plans change, I'll bring something yummy.

Silverado, CA(Zone 9b)

Thank you. It was a sad day for me - but the post has been removed and I can move on like nothing happened :) So, I will be coming to the party and will bring a crock pot dish of chile relleno. I hope that will work.

I look forward to meeting some of you and I am sure I will be able to meet the rest of you at other events.

~Sherri~

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Glad to hear that Sherri.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi Sherri, I've been meaning to email you regarding your sad post above, but have been real busy around here for several days.
I am so glad you decided to come to this gathering...you won't be sorry. These people are not like anyone on the Brug forum. This group represents the majority of what DG people are really like...nice, helpful, fun loving garderners.

Loyd, I am so happy you can make this small gathering. It gives us a chance to talk to everyone...one on one.

Amarantha, it will be so nice to meet you also. I've seen some of your posts, but haven't haven't given you a proper welcome yet.

Donna

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

You will all love our Donna! Arlene is a great cook/chef too and I'm sure hoping to make it. Has anyone heard from George?
Looking forward to meeting those I haven't met yet.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Weegy, I sure hope you can come too. I know you might have other plans, but I'm secretly hoping they get cancelled. lol

I still have to give you the Plumeria that I promised you and something else I was supposed to send you also.

Donna (blushing from your gracious comment)

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Awwww, Donna, you'd deprive me of a camping trip that I so deserve!?!!!? Hey if the plans get cancelled, no big deal, this was a tough decision anyway!
Plumeria is all I can remember, Donna, I need more plants like I need another hole in my head!
Don't worry about forgetting something, no big deal.....hmmmm could it be something Mike has for me?!?!!!?

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

YUP, I told him that I would send them to you, along with the plumeria...well, I guess you can tell that I didn't get them sent. Sorry, my bad! lol

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Not a problem Donna. I know they're in good hands!
Any word from drdon or dovey?

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Weegy, you've got dmail.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

George emailed that he was sorry they couldn't come due to other committments. We will miss him and the kitty.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Got the d-mail sweetie, thanks!
Thank tlc for the update on George! I'll miss them.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Hurray, I got clearance from my Dr. today that I can rejoin polite society, and come out of the bubble I've been living in for a while! I'm really excited about coming to the party and meeting all of you, this has really become my very favorite place on the web :-)

As for food, I'll bring an appetizer if it sounds good to enough attendees. I make jalapeno deviled eggs that are quite unusual and spicy-yummy. If too many people don't like deviled eggs, I can bring a dessert or anything else that's needed instead.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Deviled Eggs woud be wonderful. Recipe please

Silverado, CA(Zone 9b)

I am not having a good start this year. I just found out that I have to go to traffic school and the only available date to go before my deadline is the 20th. I tried to get an evening class, but they already filled up. I let this slip through the cracks and accidently missed the date I had signed up for...good think I called. I was checking to see what date I signed up for......

How often do you have these events? I am so sad again.

~Sherri~

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Jazz,
You are welcome to stop by after Traffic School.

Well the temperatures here in Iowa has finally dropped into the teens where they are supposed to be as opposed to the highs of 35-40 we were having (very unusual). These colder temps will help keep the gardens dormant. This morning we got up to a lovely gentle snow.

It will be nice to get outside and work in the garden in CA. And I am so excited to see everyone next Sat.

Orange, CA(Zone 10b)

Hi y'all!

I think I can come...still. My schedule depends on my son's audition calls. He does not drive yet (probably my fault) so I get to drive him.

I think I'll bring Vietnamese Salad Roll fixings so that we can "roll our own". I can also bring some White Chocolate No Bake Cheesecake Bites, too.

My garden has been in disrepair lately but I still manage to find a few odd tomatoes and peppers whenever I water.

See you Saturday.

Quyen

Thank you for the invitation. I just moved to Arizona in November and hadn’t gotten around to updating my profile. Hope you have a great turnout and party.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Hey Guys,
It's been touch and go with our big winter storm but I am now in Minneapolis and it looks like my 5 PM flight will be a "Go". So I should make it in time to prepare for the party!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Get ready to freeze your buns off here TWL! I hope your plants here are ok at your Orange home.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

I'm . . . . . here! Am getting so excited for you all to come. . . . been having gardening withdrawals in Iowa.

You'll know that's true when I tell you I was excited to get here and gaze on my frost bit tomatoes. As least they will come out of it and maybe be even tougher and better for Mother Nature's interferance.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Louise, will you be coming or did you decide to go camping...just wondering if I should bring your plants?

See you all tomorrow.
Donna

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I'll be there, but a little late! We didn't go camping...:-( And don't worry about the plants Donna.
Arlene, if there's anything that you forgot, please don't hesitate to call me.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Yippee!! Yes, I will be bringing them for sure.

I have a few plants to share if anyone is interested.

Would anyone want some Aster "Purple Dome" or Obedient Plant - purple?

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

This is so late it's early:
JasperDale will be quite pleased, I decided at the last minute, to make my tabouli that is his favorite. With the juice of one of our own Meyer's lemons!

When I said I'd bring Garlic Mash, I was looking at LAST year's invite with main course of lamb. Since French Dip is a sandwich (of sorts), I'm hopeful the tabouli (as a salad, of sorts) works well on the plate and in the tummy. It also rounds out the amino acids in Donna's baked beans, for anyone not eating meat!

The real reason? I've never actually MADE garlic mashed potatoes, and I was afraid I would either under- or over- garlic them!

Arlene, if you are checking this Saturday morning, remember we're available for pick up duty at the Orange Station!
~'spin!~

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10b)

Been traveling and sheesh! The date is upon us-

I am in and emailed Arlene but just in case- someone please please send me the address.

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

Done!
~'spin!~
