Hey!! That looks like the Wombat on my bag that my parents gave me my gifts in! They just got back from a cruise, Australia to New Zealand......

Aurora, CO(Zone 5b)

Koala? Naw Kell, haven't stepped foot on a ship since Sept '97. After 9/11, they changed all sorts of things for licensing and such. Too much of a pain in the butt, plus exspense now. Suprisingly, a lot of muslims (mostly from Yemen) work on the ships. Most of these came over in the '70s during their civil war and live around Michigan. That's 2 good lookin' shiela's there mate. My app for a visa is in the mail!!!!

Dewitt, MI(Zone 5b)

Dudes, I just like, licked a Toad AND ate this, like, mushroom, and I totally don't think that I can maintain .. . a network, tomorrow, or even, like, sleep!!! :)

Didn't your momma teach you not to kiss Bufo marinus?

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Stelco

Do mushrooms in Australia have seeds?

These are similar to toxic varieties in North America.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Stelco, you getting hit with the storm?

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Stelco
I think they are Spor . not seed .
A slip of the one finger typer .

Do mushrooms in Australia have seeds? Stelco? Of course they have seeds. Toss them in a skillet with onions and a little green pepper and sauté in butter and toss in some sesame seeds and voila! Shrooms with seeds. Yum yum! Best to make sure the shrooms are edible though first.

I'm getting slammed with snow and I'm south of Milwaukee by about 30 miles where they were only predicting 5" of snow. The winds are high and I've got a decent sized drift up against the garage doors right now and I think we've only gotten 2" or so. Tee he, my husband is up north of Milwaukee camping (I kid you not) where it is projected they will be getting 15" of snow. I think he has 4 other Dads with him and Lord knows how many boys (25-35) and they were supposed to be going rock repelling today and tomorrow. I'm wondering if he will be home tomorrow afternoon as was planned. Ha ha ha ha ha!

Aurora, CO(Zone 5b)

Equilibrium, you're near Great Lakes? Obviously, if I'm asking, I went to boot camp there. Hope your hubby and his buddies dressed warm. The only time it is acceptable to snuggle with another man! I don't know squat about mushrooms except porchinni, portabella and a few other cookers, but those brown ones look like the common ones I get around here.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I feel sorry for your hubby. But then again, maybe this will do him some good. LOL

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Eqi,
I was scanning my satellite pics from over your area .
If this is them ? They are all OK.

Pretty funny Ginger but unfortunately, I don't think they're going to be sitting around like that in this weather. More likely they'll be huddled in something like this-
http://www.grandshelters.com/images/snow-shelter-door-8-s2.jpg

I don't feel sorry for him in the least. I told him not to go but does anyone listen to me?
Noooooooo, they whisper under their breath that I am the Fun Police.

Personally, I hope he freezes his rear off for taking our boys for this type of a sport-

I'm not exactly thrilled. I keep getting visuals of broken bones and such but what do I know. I'm just Mom... the Fun Police.

Oops, sorry vadap. I missed your post. Am I near the Great Lakes? Yup, I could probably drive not all that far and plunk a rock in Lk Michigan. Yes, they'll be snuggling all right. Serves them right. What a bunch of ding dongs. Men not only are incapable of asking for directions when they get lost but they are evidently incapable of canceling an outing. Defies logic to me. It will be a manly affair, that's for sure. No woman would be caught out in this. Here's hoping they can dig themselves out of their little snow pits and that their cell phones work. I told him to charge his phone but he nodded and probably blew me off. He has a t-shirt that has stick people on it. One of them is a woman who is talking and above it is the word "problem". Below it is an image of a stick man with a head set on and the words above the stickman are "problem solved". That was the t-shirt he was wearing when he left. How ironic.

Here are some more Pics of wild Roos .

The Alpha male keeps them away .

Mid-Michigan has 30 MPH winds and it is 28 degrees now. We got freezing rain, sleet and snow last night with more of all to come. Some men know better than to go out in this stuff, but it really depends on what you like to do. I was out ice fishing in 15 degrees with a good stiff breeze all day last Sunday. I wouldn’t be camping or rock climbing today though.

I was pretty sure that your mushrooms reproduced by spores, as ours do, Ginger. Do you know the name of the fungus that mushrooms are the “fruit” or reproductive part of? What green leaved plant reproduces by spores and not seeds? Master gardeners are not allowed to answer these questions. :-)

How tame are the Roos? It looks like you get close. Are they dangerous, at all?

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

The Roos are quite tame .
In the true wild ( out west ) you can`t get this close .
But I still can`t get closer than 20 ft .
Just like this snake . ( a clue )

Is any one going to have a crack at Stelco`s Question ?

Aurora, CO(Zone 5b)

It's a Monday. No, the plants are ferns. If you wan't more specific, so sorry, not today. LOL Need more coffee!!!!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Monday Itis ?

Dewitt, MI(Zone 5b)

Fern is the plant that produces spores. Mycelium forms the main growing structure of a fungus. Visible structures like mushrooms are reproductive structures produced by the mycelium.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

OK Stelco ,
I put up a Hint above .
Would you not call what`s in my last Pic a plant ?
Not the snake , The actual plant ?

Dewitt, MI(Zone 5b)

I didn't notice what looks like a type of Staghorn Fern. Where I live the ferns outside will start to come up for the summer in late April or early May. They cover the forest floor in some ares and are a fragile, yet hardy plant. I totally missed the Staghorn! They would only live indoors here.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Slight correction there Stelco .
It`s an Elkhorn.
Staghorns are Singular .
But you did say

Quoting:
Master gardeners are not allowed to answer these questions. :-)

Thats why I didn`t answer .
I just provided a clue .

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL.

Dewitt, MI(Zone 5b)

I wanted to give others a chance to answer. I just know how quick Equil jumps in with all of that studying. Didn't know that we have another on board. Congratulations on your certification!

Elk, Stag . . . at least I knew that funky looking fern was actually a fern after you pointed it out!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Did you enlarge the Pic ?
If not You should !!!
