I don't get over to this bed in the garden much. A creature of habit I suppose. I just wanted to wish all the gardeners at Dave's the very best of Holidays and a good harvest of whatever you grow in the all the years to come.
Tis the season for picking oranges and my Navel Orange Tree is loaded. After washing the fruit, one of my many tangential thoughts came to fruition as I placed them on the table next to the Avocados to dry. An ephemeral Holiday Fruit Tree captured for posterity. This morning it was organic fresh squeezed juice enjoyed by many.
Happy Holidays

Aloha Kihei! Mele Kalikimaka to you and yours. DH and I lived on Kauai for a bit less than 10 years, 1993 to 2002. We miss swimming at Kealia Beach outside Kapaa Town on Christmas Day. Enjoy your island paradise!

Ilama, lovley construction, our orange and lemon trees are just setting their fruit. I am just waiting for the children to come over for Christmas dinner, everything is ready to go, tho leg of pork is roasting away and all the vegetables are wainting quietly in their saucepans. On Thursday we picked the first of our very own home grown vegetables, silver beet and radishes. Just so delicious, we have been moving homes and getting a flower garden established over the past two and a holf years and the vegetables are the first of thosse we planted to be picked.
We were in Hawaii a couple of years age, wonderful plantings in the streets of Honolulu, fell in love with all the wonderful palm trees.
Seasons greetings to you.
Here we are stuck in the middle of winter. In fact, winter just officially started here. The only saving grace for me is I have a GH and when the going gets tough in the dead of winter, I can go in there and it restores my soul. Today we went to the grocery store and bought naval oranges. We will be having them with our breakfast tomorrow. Lived in CA and born and raised in FL so I know what it is to be able to go outside and pick fresh fruit from trees. We are stuck with what we get at a store. Happy New Year to all of you.
