CLOSED: CGs LMW Seed Swap 2006_3 extras

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

susan51, i have some milkweed varieties and will send 5-6 of each. i would send more but i am already sharing these seeds with another friend. also, i think i can collect some castor been. mine are all trade seeds and the person sent red and pink mixed so don't know what you'll get. what number are you? i will make a personal envelope for you. and connie i did that on all my extras so all you have to do is put my envelope in each of their envelopes.

this envelope is bulging and i still have a box full of seeds. any takers on the number i actually get planted? lol. this is a sickness. it's just a better sickness than meth-amphetamines or cocaine but a sickness none the less. lol.

hi lily..i think id like to try the nigella, nicotiana and the agastache if you have plenty...and thank you very much i am number 9 i had to go back and check my number...lol

Austell, GA(Zone 7a)

Brenda

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Is DonnaB the only one who wants rudbeckia Goldstrum from me from the extras? Just double checking because I wasn't able to edit my send list above as I went along last night.

Connie, could you add Pamsue to the list of people who want redbud seeds if she's not already on the list? I don't want to do it above in case she is already on the list.

I have lots of seeds on my vitex if any of you would like some. Also my mock orange.

http://www.shcn.co.uk/season.asp vitex

http://www.colby-sawyer.edu/academic/ces/herbarium/angiosperms/morange.html mock orange

This particular mock orange has huge flowers (over 2 inches across) and very strong scent. It scents the entire yard for weeks when in bloom. Whether the seeds will give you plants with the large flowers or just regular mock orange I don't know. I like to cut branches and bring them inside when it's blooming to scent the house. (If you've never grown mock orange, it's called that because the blooms smell like orange blossoms. Out of this world heavenly.)

No luck with the carolina spicebush. I'll have to remember to collect some earlier next year.

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Hart I would Love some of your mock orange.Could you please put me down for some?
Nancy

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Hart I will try some Mock Orange please

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Connie,I am going to get all my seeds ready to go over the weekend so I can get everything sent off on Monday.I will put the extras for everyone in separate baggies with their numbers on them.Hope thats the way you want it done?I thinks thats what I read earlier but of course I can't find it now.LOL I just can't believe how much fun this has been.Such a fun bunch of traders has made it even better. You all are Great!
Nancy

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

connie, unless someone else wants to try them i will send the whole pkg. to you.

and plantnutz the only yellow cleome i have left is my own stash. i will send you 15. these seeds were hard to find. and no i have never sown them. they grow wild in utah and supposedly colorado and new mexico although the native plant people in those states that i wrote did not know this plant. connie, started the whole yellow cleome thing. took months but i finally found a lady in utah who is laughing at us all for wanting seeds of her weed who traded me a large amt. of seeds. i have been trading and giving them away for a month now. my hope is that at least a few of us will be able to grow them and thereby always have a supply for daves garden folks. this is a native plant but there are no vendors offering this that any of us could find. so please pass them along.

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

hart can i have some mock orange and the rudbeckia.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

mama, I QUILTY :o) ROFL

And if others want some of the cactus seeds by all means split them up :o)

Hart would you please send me a few of the mock orange & vitex, just a few...

Thanks, oh and hart just put pamsues # on a pack of the redbud and I will make sure she gets it. I will also make a note of it...

Nancy sounds good to me...

The deadline to mail seeds is the 15th but soon if you can - out of US please try to get them in the mail tomorrow. Thanks

Connie

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Got everyone on the mock orange - DonnaB, Cedarnest and Mamajack. Mamajack, wouldn't you like some vitex too? It's even more drought tolerant than the mock orange and I'm sure would do well in Texas.

Susan, the Johnny Appleseed is in New Market, which is, let's see, maybe 30-35 miles from here. I'm north and east of there.

I finally found the post about the swap. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/663196/

Of course you can bring your husband. There are lots of nice b&bs across the mountain. But tell him if he prefers to fish, there's a stocked trout stream right up the road from me, maybe a mile or two away. You have to have a special license for fishing in the national forest in addition to your regular fishing license, but he can get those at WalMart in Woodstock or at the little country store about a quarter mile from me.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

mama, I for got to mention this in the above post, I have already planted a few of the cleome lutea out side, I will also winter sow a few and then plant the rest after our last frost date... So hopefully one of the ways will WORK :o)
