so you didn't grow those in the globe like those pears in whatever liquor that is ;) Cool Andy
That reminds me, I narrowly avoided trouble this week when I was walking the dog. Usually we go in to the backyard, but didn't one day. And right when we got in the house 2 loose dogs wandered out of the backyard. If my dog would have trapped those dogs back in there it could have been scary.
Daily Musings Page 5
Andy, looks just like one of those floral water globes.
Al, glad you missed the trouble. stray dogs are never anything to mess with.
Dave, excellect advice as always. thank goodness you still subscribe to the Cartonn network
Al, that reminds me of an incident with my previous dog, Lucy.
One morning I was opening the back door to let her out when I spotted this huge Rotwyler (sp?) in the fenced yard. I kept Lucy in as I assessed the situation. The Rotty was big but not aggressive so I went out and sat on the picnic table near the door. It's a big yard and it was way out back. It watched me and with a little smooth talking, it came up to me. I then calmly walked to the gate and walked through, all the time calling it. It followed and was soon gone.
It must have jumped down a 4 foot wall into the lower section of the yard to get in.
You had to be there to see that it was not going to be a problem, unless Lucy got out.
How do Cherry blossoms in a sphere remind you of that dog story?
Andy P
they don't
the previous dog stories did - it all makes sense in the end
Oh yea, Otis.
Anyone have any real advice for poor snowhite?
she should wash her fruit before eating it?
I wish I could help Snowhite. A low wire fence works for me but how big is the area? I used almost 300 feet for my yard, at $1 per foot for the cheap stuff that I put up myself it can get pricey.
My day started off with a bang. I was baking an apple in the microwave when it caught fire. Not the apple, lol.
Baked apple with a few blackberries over French toast is very nice on a Sunday morning.
Now I'm off to get a new nuker. Woe is me. I thought the bad luck had ceased.
Andy P
Anita, I'm very proud of you!
What about asking the Wildlife Forum about skunk bye-bye ideas?
Wally (the evil cat) caught himself a huge rat on Saturday. I was running in the house to get my camera to document his "kill" when I realized the rat wasn't dead. The neighbor and I watched as Wally put down the rat and Holly (the good cat) came over to check the situation out. Now Holly is death on voles - five in one day is her personal best but she wasn't interested in killing the rat for Wally. So the injured rat just played dead and scampered in turns away and back to his/her nest. I hate Wally's catch and release policy! What do I pay for all the fancy cat food for if they can't even take down a rat between the two of them?
My dog Sarah catches rodents as well as any cat I've seed. From voles to one big rat but she only kills it when I give the word. Her best was 12 in one year. Nine mice and three voles. She doesn't eat them, I give her a nice treat so I can dispose of them.
Andy P
OK - duh...at first I thought you guys were speaking of "Snow White"! I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. I didn't notice the name SnowWhiteRider - sorry about that! I only saw White Rider!.
Ya gotta get off the drugs, Anita.
aw come on!!! Do I really have to??? How's you holiday planning going Nancy?
Nancy, how about if she just cuts back a little and replaces it with eggnog and rum?? hmmm??
Gram, please! You're being a bad influence! Well, why not!
My life is not my own. I just go with the flow. Right now my 79 year old relative is visiting for a week. He's the baby brother of the 92 year old I visit everyday. He's from Manhattan. My husband did put up a few deorations and it looks pretty nice in the house.
Oh, I had a nice time this morning! I met a fellow DG'er for breakfast at "Purrkins". We talked for almost three hours. What a good friend she has been. (Debbie's Daisy)
I love chatting over breakfast! How often do you get to meet with her? Thanks for looking out for me Grams!
Well, we met once last Spring, then had to postpone a couple more dates for one reason or another, so this was only the second time. But we chat here at the Garden. And there's been some cards sent between us.
Dave's Garden really does have the finest people around.
Here, here, Nancy. Nice folk on DG.
Sidekick Sarah has a problem with the new microwave. Since yesterdays fire in the old one, she gets nervous every time I open the door of the new one.
Andy P
Holly, the good cat, sat at the back door and meowed to go out last night. She never, ever gets let out in the dark - so what was up with that? I opened the back door and saw through the storm door that there was a package sitting on the stoop! The postman had left a box at the back door and didn't leave a note in the mail box and she knew it! Good kitty.
Yank, that's why you need a good cat. not sure about the evil cat...except for fun and the rat thing.
Andy, poor Sarah. something is always torturing her. she'll probably adjust, but it's always something.
Nancy, so nice to get to meet a DG friend in person. I hope pixie gets to come in the spring, but even if not, we have to get together :0)
I'm going to hate myself for posting this here but...

It's me 50 years ago.
Andy?? I see only trees.
edit: I tried it again. The green line grew, but then...nothing. Darn.

Andy, too, too cute. does Santa know about this?
Nancy, it can be a little slow in loading. I had to try twice just now but it worked.
Gram, I didn't ask Santa. He might not have allowed it, lol.
I found this posted by Deanne in the Michigan forum late last night. (Past my bed time.) My judgment was impaired by fatigue.

my machine's fairly fast and it was still a little 'jerky', if you'll pardon the term. I'm going to have to find a pic of my 'very grown' son and do one for his kids.
Andy, That's great! (and it played very well for me)
Andy,
Your elfself is adorable. Merry Christmas to you and Sarah too.
Loretta
Andy, that's lovely. Merry Christmas to you, and Sarah, too, of course.
Thanks everyone.
Al, our dogs look very much alike.
He's lab with some chow and a lot of begger
Mine is part Lab, Pit Bull and 'fraidy cat'. (2 days with the new microwave and still freaked.)
Andy P
'.
great pics everyone - pixie, that is hysterical! What is it about big dogs..is it that they can't fit under the bed? That where my cats and dachshund would go.
Anita, If we're not home.he crams his large body under the bed. It takes him 5 mins. to crawl back out again cause he's so big.
Cute pics Celeste
Okay all these pics of dogs is making me want to get one! I just wish I had time for one otherwise I would probably have one.
