Well, this is going to be difficult I fear. I don't have ANYTHING on your list. Oh dear, I will post my list of wants later, but if I don't have any of the seeds that others list, how am I gonna play??? :(

Susan
=^..^=

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Connie, do you have another name for the Sweet Potate Vine, I think I have some seeds some where with a strange name to them, couldn't find them by the name listed in the plantfiles, but I think it's one kind of Sweet Potate Vine.

Backus, MN

I can relate, Susan!! I can't even pronounce the requested seeds, much less provide any....won't there be anyone with simple requests who just aren't at that 'higher level seeding', yet? lol

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

rofl,

Re-read the rules I updated it.

Connie

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

I search all my plants up on http://www.google.com DG Plant Files are to complicated for me, I am such a simpleton roflmbo

Connie

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Perhaps it would be easier to not list specific hybrids that you want. If most of us are sharing seeds we collected from our own plants, they aren't going to be true to the hybrid anyway.

Connie is it okay to just go ahead and make the homemade seed packets like I did before? Since I have to print out the names and so forth for the seeds anyway and I already have the template, it's just as easy to do that as to try and find little bitty ziplock bags.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Sure Diane, how ever you want to do it :o) Hey I'm easy, Well hmmm that didn't sound to good did it rofl... JK.

All can use what they want to put there seeds in. For me the small zip bags are easier to handle. But it is strickly up to all what you put them in... :o)

Connie,The smelly kind!! LOL I know..they all stink!! I never really gave it much thought. I guess any garlic is fine.We use alot of garlic in our cooking and I really just want to see if I can grow my own.: )

OOOO I like your list basket_case !! I have quite a few of them!! : )

Nancy

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

See everyone thought no one would have what they were looking for, and we just started *grinning BIG*

Nancy not sure how many seeds I have, but my cousin gave me some flowering garlic, don't have a picture of it but it is pretty... they use the stalk part of it to put in salads etc.

Anyone else that has garlic on their list, I will call my cousin and see if she has more seeds...

Connie

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Cedarnest, I grow garlic around my daylilies in hopes of keeping the deer away. I just bought regular garlic at the store and planted the cloves. They are doing fine.

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Connie,Thanks I appreciate that! : )

Hart,Thats working well for you?Thats excellent! Hmm... wondering if it would keep my million bunnies away from mine??I never thought rabbits ate daylilies til I was outside the other day and saw one munching away.Think I will see if garlic does the trick : )

Backus, MN

I have great success keeping the rabbits away with cats!

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Here's some things I've been looking for. May add to this list later.

1. Nicotiana sylvestris - flowering tobacco, grows about 6 feet tall and has white flowers.
2. Love lies bleeding, red or green
3. Large apple gourds, bushel gourds
4. I would love, love, love some toad lily seeds, any kind.
5. Thermopsis caroliniana - Carolina lupin, been desperately seeking this one
6. Stanleya - prince's plume
7.Eriogonum umbellatum - sulfur buckwheat
8. Blackberry or candy lily
9. Salvia argentea (this is the one that's grown for its furry foliage)
10. Helenium, especially any kind with red flowers
11. Aesculus hippocastanum - horse chestnut
12. Zelkova - any variety of this tree
13. Catalpa - another tree I know will do well here

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Lol basket_case, There are all kinds of cats and other animals that run loose here where I live...

I talked to my cousin and she doesn't have any more seeds for the flowering garlic, She just lets it reseed. She only snabbed some of them for me...

So Nancy I will see what I can do, not making no promises :o)

Connie

Monroe, NY(Zone 6b)

cedarnest,
I think the best way to grow garlic is from the bulb (clove). If you do it from seed, it'll take forever. In my zone, planting should be in the Fall.

For making little zip-lock bags, I use sandwich bags cut to the desired size and seal them with a Seal-a-Meal type of plastic bag sealer.

Connie, please include me in your swap. Here's my limited list.
" long-john" italian sqash
sweet pumpkin
cosmos-any color
coleus

marigold- any color, especially reds
chives
rosemary

The garlic helped a little bit but was no cure. I tried everything to keep the deer from grazing my daylilies down to the ground. I finally put up one of those flimsy plastic deer fences. That works like a charm. I know they could jump it but I think they stay away because they're afraid of anything they might get tangled in.

Anyway, if you want garlic plants, just plant the cloves. It might work on the rabbits.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Sal is that list things you are wanting???

And welcome a board :o)

Connie

Monroe, NY(Zone 6b)

yes, Connie

thank you

Backus, MN

I have a neighbor who grows garlic, she saves a lot of her own seed for many things. I will check to see if she has any garlic seed to share. -if she has any at all I know she will share, it is just that I don't know if she saves it or allows it to reseed like Connie's cousin.
--as for deer- I have heard any kind of fine wire or fishing line that is run from 1-3 feet high will keep them away. They don't see it and when they touch it they get spooked. I don't have much trouble with deer because ALL of my neighbors let their dogs run loose in an area that includes my yard! What I do have trouble with is the sheriff who keeps sending a deputy out because those same neighbors complain about my dogs (who are securely in a kennel) are barking! DUH!!!

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Okay For all you new ones that sign up today, I will get you on the list tomorrow afternoon, I have already reached my limit to edit :o(

i can't join this swap as i have very few of the seeds anyone is wanting but hart i do have a few of yours.

what i wanted to say is this...........about the plant files..........try this.

click on plant files. click on search for plants. then in the text in different colored writing click on generalized search. then type in the name you know. MOST of the time this will work.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks mamajack and you have a GREAT THANKSGIVING :o)

BTW, it doesn't matter if you have what we need ;-) This is just one way to help each other try to get some of the ones we are wanting... And it's fun :o)

Connie

(Zone 7a)

Would love to join, too. I have seeds that several have listed above - could I send them in marked for the individuals whose wishes they match, or are we supposed to just send seeds to one person? Am confused.

10 kinds on my wish list are:

Anethum graveolens (dill) 'Bouquet' or 'Fernleaf' or any type
Beta vulgaris var. Cicla 'Rainbow Chard'
Erysimum species (Wallflowers)
Helianthus annuus (sunflower) 'Moulin Rouge' or 'Chianti' or anything similar
Lagenaria siceraria (night blooming, white fringed flowering gourd - includes trumpet and swan shapes among others)
Papaver species (Poppies) - mostly low, small, single ones like:
Papaver alpinum
Eschscholtzia (California poppy) in white
Papaver atlanticum
Papaver rhoeas (Shirley poppies) in pastel colors like 'Fairy Wings' or Angel's Choir.
Papaver paeoniflorum - comes in a double, black-red color -
Lathyrus odorata (Sweet peas)
Lobularia maritima (sweet alyssum) - white
Matthiola bicornis aka M. longiflora (Evening Stock)
Pennisetum glaucum - dark, black-purple kind - ?'Purple Majesty' - other?

The lemon southernwood (Artemisia abrotanum) has never flowered before this past summer for us - I collected the pods but haven't checked to see if the seed is viable yet. This is a wormwood with a lemony fragrance and highly dissected leaves not loved by woodchucks and other critters that is very pretty behind a hedge of rue with sage lurking somewhere in the back. So I'd be happy to mark that for cedarnest. It prefers full sun, but I grow it in half shade of silver maple.
