Photo blow-ups

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Not a big fan of the "post beside the photo" feature.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

I like it.
Many times I have forgotten what I was looking at if its a picture that is not on the original post.
Thanks Dave!

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

Maybe Dave can make it an option that we pick in preferences. I'm the one who requested it as I use tabbed browsing with Firefox and at times I'll open 10 or more tabs and then have to go back to the original post to see what someone was pointing out or the name of a plant for example.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

I like it, too.

(Zone 11)

I would like to have an option in preferences as well.
Or,it would be nice if you could hit a "view text button" while viewing
the picture and then it would refresh with the text included if needed.

It would also be nice to have a button while viewing pictures that
said: "original size", for larger photos uploaded that have better detail.
Due to bandwidth concerns, probably limited to subscribers only.

Seymour, IN(Zone 5b)

I really like the feature. I lurk (or just read as I perfer to call it) alot and have appreciated it lately. Lou

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Surprisingly, I do not like it either and I usually like the changes made. I would prefer it to be an option too.

Central, KY(Zone 6b)

I don't care for it either, would be good as an option though.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I love it! :-)

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

I love it!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I love it too!

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

I don't care for it. An option would be good for me.

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

I love it! It's perfect for Shelly's reason. It's the same thing I said on another post.

Thank You Begonia!

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

I love it. Thanks.

I also love the zone information in d-mails. It's new, isn't it? As I recall, that wasn't there before, because I used to have to go to the person's homepage to find the zone before I could answer questions or make suggestions.

West Central, WI(Zone 4a)

I love the text next to the pic!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

i like this feature for the simple reason i do not have to switch back and forth between the photo and post/thread.

Albany, OR(Zone 8a)

I am not too keen on it with the text along side of the picture. I think it should be an option too.

Burlingame, CA(Zone 9a)

I just noticed this and I love it too!!! No more backwards and forwards....

Thanks Dave and Team - you've been busy lately :-)

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I really appreciate it as well.

Thanks Dave, it's a good feature.

Crossville, TN(Zone 6b)

I often have several windows open and jump around too. It helps me to remember.
Thanks Dave.

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I like it too.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, good. The pendulum is swinging in favor of this feature. It was pretty even ~ love - hate ~ for a while.
I don't understand the negatives, it doesn't reduce the size of the posted image and it's off to the side.
Just my 2 cents.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

I'm with Andy--it doesn't change the size of the pic and on pics that blow up fairly large you have to look carefully to even see it, I think it's very unobtrusive and easy to ignore if you don't want to see it. I could see if it made the picture smaller that you would want to have an option to not see it, but since it doesn't change the picture at all I'm not sure why there is a problem, just don't read the text if you don't want to.

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

You do good, Dave.....Always thinking of us...

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

I love it, especially when there is a description or naming of several plants shown in the image, or even names of several people in the photo, it's great to have the text right there. Thanks Lali for the clever suggestion and Dave to implement it.

Toone, TN(Zone 7a)

I am a big fan of this feature too. Thank you Dave.

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

OK, I am changing my vote back. I like it now...LOL

Camilla, GA(Zone 8a)

nice addition

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I would like to be able to turn it off and keep the bigger picture if wanted,

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

It made me so happy not to have to keep going back and forth . . . I really had trouble remembering whose picture I was enjoying or what they said about it.

Thanks, Dave & Crew, this is a great change!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

As long as it does't make the picture smaller (I have trouble seeing all the details sometimes) I think it is just great. THANKS Lali and Dave.

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

Al - the picture is the same size as it would be if the text weren't there. I think we notice the size differences of various pictures more now because of the addition of the text. But, really, the pictures' sizes haven't changed. I wouldn't lie to you!! LOL

Lakemont, GA(Zone 8a)

Me likey it too!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

No way! on the forums I have seen it on the text took up the right 1/3 of the screen.

New Port Richey, FL(Zone 9a)

I love it, nice feature!

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes, Al, it did. And before the text was there, the right 1/3 of the screen was blank if the picture only took up 2/3 of the space. It's likely that when it was blank you just didn't notice it. Before we had the addition of the text, I saw pictures that were smaller and ones that were larger. Now that the text is there it makes the various sizes MUCH more obvious.

Here's one picture which is quite large: http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2723836 As you can see, the picture takes up most of the screen and the text on the right is quite small.

Here's a medium-sized photo: http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2907787

And here's a small photo: http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2901586

Hope this helps.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Good examples, Pekasky. As soon as I read Al's post I scrambled to find sample pics. Then I read your post, lol.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Like it!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Good suggestions about having options. I think a slight improvement would be to insert a blank line between the poster's name and the post seeing as we don't have indents.
