Forgive the spelling of lychnis. I have no idea how it is actually spelled.
I was wondering if anyone in the zone 5 area had ever started seeds this late in the year. I usually harvest seeds and wait till spring but i would like to get a head start if possible. We only have 60 days or so left till possible first frost here in south western Ontario.
Lychnis
You can start them now. I'd plant them direct in the ground if I were you. They're tough little buggers and will come through winter fine.
Thankyou poppysue. They went in the ground last night. I also found a one gallon pot of cranesbill at Home Depot last night which the nice boy gave me for half price. Seems what is left in their perennial dept. has been the playground of the stores resident chipmunks. He saw me picking the growing birdseed out of the plants (they are on their last days anyway) and was so thankful he let me pick what I wanted.
i doubt he will read this but if so, Thankyou also , nice HD boy.
I brought three plants and a handful of seeds here to NC from Ct. and now have millions. Want more?
I would love more Agapanthus! I just received my first seeds by mail ever yesterday. I'm affraid I might get addicted to seed swaping. Email me when you have time.
And Thankyou for sharing!
I mailed you direct
