hi gang
i am sorry to tell you i am in florida helping my sister and bil
in their beautiful sandwich shop that is only delivery or
take out. it is gourmet class and open only from 11 am to
230 in the afternoon. jeff goes home at 3pm. what a great
job, and no weekends any more either. he did have the
liquour store and that was 17 hour days and nights,
almost 365 days a year, it was terrible with theft and
employee theft, now its much better. only have to worry
about the romaines. : )
I just called Lou dh and he is gearing up for that snow.
i hope everyone is ok in michigan. check your batteries
and get some kerosene and candles, lots of blankies
and the news also asked that everyone please check
on their neighbors physically. dh is staying home tomorrow
and not dri9ving to battle creek to work, he will work
from the house he said. i toold him to put new horse
blanket on joy joy, and change the hay in the chicken
nests and shovel the steps before he walks on them. LOL.
well, its 76 degrees here and balmy. green ficus and
agaves, impatiens, hibiscus in flower...oh my.
healing soft rains every day. my sissy and dh and i went to
the beach and sat on the soft sand on monday and ate
chicken ceaser wraps from the sandwich shop. the surf
was rolling and crashing in, so luminous green and it
was quite breezy. we put on sunblock and wiggled our
toes in the sand, sat on folding chairs and just relaxed
for like 2 hours. its been years!!!!
just rubbing it in ....lololol
i will prolly be home next week some time.
take care
sheri
Sheri how evil of you. LOL I hope you have a great time down south!
The boyz are home with their first official snow day-its not that bad out either.
It was freezing rain during the night but it was so warm its just slush here. The winds are
whipping off the lake and I think thats keeping us warmer. Dont know if we will still get some
snow or not yet. They say it will start this afternoon.

Ended up not being awful here either - a lot of rain, sleet, some wet snow, but I went shopping for 5 hrs this afternoon!!
So it couldn't have been too bad!
Who's that person in Florida laughing at us with our snow? Shame on her - may weeds be growing in her garden LOL (just kidding...) We're all jealous that your are in warm weather. Enjoy yourself and wiggle those toes for me!!
Hey Sarv you gonna join the michigan christmas exchange??? hmmmm ????
Dori is hosting it..
Connie
ce- I'm gonna skip it for this year. I always get in a major funk around Christmas - the stress of everything about does me in and buying gifts is the worse of it!! But I will gladly watch all you enjoy it!!
But sarv when you get your gift it will lift you out of that holiday funk :)
awwww Sarv :(
Christmas is a time of giving and sharing, not a time to get into a funk :-}
And you have all of us here to cheer you up...
And like Dori said, also when you look at that gift everyday, and it will put a smile on your face :o)
Connie
Do you know how many curse words I say while I am thinking of what to buy people?? My head is still not sitting right on my shoulders....maybe if all of you would come do my Christmas shopping -- then I'd be in a better mood.... I'm still passing....but maybe next year....
:( Trying to twist your arm off lol
Oh well, Hope you have a great and fun Christmas anyway =)~

Sarv, I'm usually there with you, buying gifts can be hard for a variety of reasons and ... I hate the crowds. But we don't buy too many gifts in our extended family, so it isn't too bad.
I have to say, yesterday was a wonderful gift giving experince for me. I don't want to get into all the 'family stuff' surrounding 'why', but I've never wanted to be incharge of buying the family gift for my Dad. Well, for certain reasons it fell to my hubby and I, and it turned out to be the best. We took Dad to buy him a 'lift chair'. One of those that helps you get out of your lazy boy-like chair. We had such a good time and he loved this gift and for once was so happy ... an 80 year old man, dying of cancer and he still has a zest for life!
Hate to say it, but it's kind of nice buying for Christmas gifts for one of you ... I know you won't say you don't like it, and is it 'ok' if you return it, or make a funny face when you open it (well, at least I won't see that funny face!). So my 'Joy' from buying the gift stays with me ... and that is your gift to me.

Our lake shore counties are really getting hammered (Lake Mich), both my kids work over there, so I keep track of the weather there. The sun was out here, it was cold, but was beautiful!. Well, I got home, the skies clouded over and now it is snowing to beat the band.
How funny - sun is back out now....only in Michigan
Brrrrr this morning its cold out baby!! Yesterday I went shoping in the morning and mailed my packages then picked up the grandbabies and took them to my house for the day till mom got done cleaning the carpets, We had fun!
We did have snow flurries off and on with sunshine! We have a covering on the ground and the sun is out!
Going to be busy today so wishing you all a great weekend and happy holidays!
always thinking spring!!! :)
cheerz
Yep, yesterday sure was cold! We even increased the temp. in the house a little. Burrrrr.
For some reason I'm having a Red Lobster Attack this morning ... anyone else like the place?
No chance of my eating it tonight though ... taking my son and his friends to an indoors Paint Ball place for his birthday. I'll probably be eating pizza there.
Maybe tomorrow I'll twist hubbys arm and we will go.
I see your from Trenton...The one on Eureka is terrible....service is the same..!!
I love Red Lobster too but I was kind of disappointed the last time we went two weeks ago. They have changed their menu and eliminated a couple of my favorites and of course the prices have gone up.
Demstratt, do you go to the one in Redford? Just curious and wonder if it is better.

Demstratt, You are sooooo right about the service of the RL on Eureka!!!
We now go to the one in Monroe!
Hemlady, the prices are higher than what I like to pay for a regular 'dinner out'. But we owe the kids a dinner out at a resturant of their choice (they always pick RL). When they do well on their report cards, we don't give them money, we give them a 'dinner out'. We feel we get to reap the rewards too. ☺

Hey Toofew, what are you referring to about the service. I have never experienced bad service at the one on Eureka. Maybe its because hubby and I always go early before the crowds hit. We usually go at 4 o'clock or 4:30.
You won't get it in Redford....I helped a friend in his gardens this summer...he loves it there..looked dirty to me..but I am kinda fussy..The next day we went to the bone yard...they have yummy ribs..It's on Telegraph in Redford..
You girls are making me hungry...might have to go there for lunch today..!!
I've been to the Bone Yard. Yes they are yummy!!!!
Thats my lunch for the day...ribs at the Bone Yard...!!
hemlady, we eat before 5pm also on most nights out. We love to beat the crowds and then linger with talk and coffee. :o)
We haven't been back to the Red Lobster on Eurkea for several years now. Can't tell you how bad the service was back then. I think we had bad service about 5 visits in a row before we finally switched to Monroe.
We've never been to the boneyard ... have to put that one on my list ... sounds interesting.
sharon
Sharon, I love our red lobster (Monroe), When DH and I get to go, we have always had great service. And I just LOVE their butter cheese biscuits... They just melt in your mouth.. Now see what you have went and done :o) lol. Now I am hungry rofl
Connie
Haven't been to RL for about 20 yrs....maybe I need to revisit them!!
Sunny and looks great here - outside temps 27 deg. Birds are gathering round the feeder for lunch!! Time for me to find some too!!
Fergie's on Fort street in Lincoln Park has the best fish in the area.
