Well we got grochries tonight, filled our most of our water jugs, so I am good to go for at least a week lol...

Back from the spa and I'm a greasy gal, but looking pretty good!! We DID have snow in Gladwin!! Woke up to it all over Sat morn, but it was gone before afternoon.
I've never been in the eastern part of the state before (can you believe it!) I have rubber neck from looking at so much- beautiful area. (oh, I've been to Detroit - just not the thumb area)

I'm royally sick of this cold gloomy weather. They are saying better weather for next week. Just hope it doesn't warm up too much and my dahlia tubers start rotting...wouldn't that be special...not.
We're going away for Thanksgiving, so I can let my house go and live amongst my clutter with no worry. My vanilla ice cream is all gone- time for a trip to the store!
Morning everyone..........Not avoiding yakking here, just been to darn busy still trying to put my garden to bed, got a house full of deer hunters, and trying to get ready for Thanksgiven.....that being said, I hope everyone is doing ok.

After Thanksgiven, I am going to start my Christmas Cookie baking......anyone out there have some outstanding great tasting cookies??? I usually bake about 15 different kinds.....however, I gave most away as gifts to my family, mailman, Schwan Delivery guy etc....

i have been LAZY this past gloomy week!! Ive done a bit of housework and thats about it
my dh is sitting at walmart as we speak-he went there at 3am and is 6th in line for a new game system for the boys-this guy is the GREATEST
i will be cheering for Michigan to win today over OS- my heart and prayers go out to Bo Schembechler's family and friends :( GO UM!!!!
The sun is out today-thats a first in a week or so!! May have to walk to the mailbox and get yesterday's mail! lol

No sun here either..yahhhh. I major overslept this morning- not at all like me. I looked out at my bluebird boxes and saw a lone bluebird scoping out the box...That made me smile. He obviously will be hanging around this winter. Need to get my recipes for suet out for him. Gosh, I love those little birds.
DGS is over and he has marked up the catalog with all the things he wants for Christmas. Now I go shopping for him and get that over with. I wish my family would just give me gift cards for lumber!! I want to border a new bed this spring. They think I am crazy... Maybe they're right!!
Well, my hair is sticking up all over and my head is semi-pounding....I need to hit the shower and see if I can look human!

this is a great game system-they are playing and sweating-not just sitting there playing you stand up and you box and swing the bat and throw the baseball and YOU MOVE around. This maybe a good game system!!! i may even have to play!

Tomorrow I go for blood work at 8:30am, then taking care of a 4 and 2 yr old all afternoon, and dinner out with friends in the evening. I need to haul the kiddy toys out and put away things I don't want broken. Need to make my final list for the grocery store too...

I just found this thread tonight. Quick question - do you think it's too late to plant the remaining bulbs I have? There aren't too many as most everything made it into the ground already, but I do have a few daffs, a lily, a few leftovers on crocuses, hyacinth etc. This is the 1st year I ever planted bulbs and I truly ordered more than I had time for. Next year maybe I'll be a little more disciplined! LOL
LOL....You can plant them now...I just got thru doing the rest of mine this afternoon....I planted some out in January...They all survived,I think...
I tried to get them in this afternoon but the snow was falling... and the wind was blowing.... and it was just too yucky out there. I opted for a cup of hot cocoa and Christmas crafts!

The problem with weekdays is by the time I get home from work it's nearly dark out - I miss the long days of summer!

I'm cooking, don't know if anyone else is coming over or not. Daughter has plans with a friend of hers and her family so, that leaves more for me & dh rofl, No seriously I am cooking and I don't know who is coming but there will be plenty of food for who ever shows up :o)

We;re going to DIL/DS's house. It starts at 1in the afternoon and goes until midnight. We all bring stuff and have way more than needed - we have a grand time. Eating, eating and more eating and playing games...
I'm bringing grape salad, and lettuce salad and dessert and probably will whip up an appetizer too!!

Im cooking dinner here and I guess I will have 4 of my 5 boys here(teig's in vegas)
I have been doing it here for yrs and its always a laugh a minute at dinner!
One yr dayme ate under the table and would pass a plate up from under the table-more turkey!
My oldest son farted out what sounded like wheeeeeeeat! Its just always something-like ozzie osbornes house!
Grape salad sound so yummy i may have to add that!
Now let me tell you about this new games system-we are all sore as heck!!!
It does get you moving and sweating playing this thing-but i have the highest leverl bowler now

Hey who is going shopping day after thanksgiving? NOTme I will be hauling more scrape metals to the scrape yard. I cant wait to see this farm yard without all this old junk!! My dh cut a old bus(used as a car hauler at sometime) into pieces and wants to cut the old combine up yet before frisday!
there is a old 42 pontiac and a studabaker truck or something out there we even have a protype truck some guy name "clark" was making at one time!!! Its unreal the stuff around here. There are alot of antique things-some good some junk(my opinion)Theres some old 1800 beaner or something> Id have to go look again at what it says on it....but its been out in the weather who knows how long..its in fair shape but will not get any better in yrs to come.

Working the day after Thanksgiving. It will be a relief to have some quiet time to regroup at work - it's been a hectic month, and my desk... where is my desk? I haven't seen it in weeks!
I never shop the day after Thanksgiving with the exception of one year when Game Boy Color came out - that was a must have for my kids!
Christmas this year will be very very lean as far as gifts, less money = less shopping (maybe this is a good thing?) We have wonderful family traditions we will enjoy!!
My son Teig surprised me and came home from Vegas-I had all 5 boys in the hoouse at the same time again :)
Im going to be busy the next few days so i want to Jump in here and wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hooray on your son surprising you - what fun!! I've had DGS all day and he's run me ragged...made dinner for everyone tonight and now I'm just sitting here staring ahead - I'm so full that nothing sounds good - even all that Thanksgiving food tomorrow. At least all I have to make is two salads and I'll do that tomorrow early.

When I was a young turkey, new to the coop,
My big brother Mike took me out on the stoop,
Then he sat me down, and he spoke real slow,
And he told me there was something that I had to know.
His look and his tone I will always remember,
When he told me of the horrors of Black November:
"Come about August, now listen to me,
Each day you'll get six meals instead of just three,
"And soon you'll be thick, where once you were thin,
And you'll grow a big rubbery thing under your chin.
"And then one morning, when you're warm in your bed,
In'll burst the farmer's wife, and hack off your head.
"Then she'll pluck out all your feathers so you're bald 'n pink,
Scoop out all your insides and leave ya lyin' in the sink;
"And then comes the worst part," he said, not bluffing,
"She'll spread your cheeks and pack your rear with stuffing."
Well, the rest of his words were too grim to repeat,
I sat on the stoop like a winged piece of meat,
And decided on the spot that to avoid being cooked,
I'd have to lay low and remain overlooked.
I began a new diet of nuts and granola,
High-roughage salads, juice, and diet cola;
And as they ate pastries, chocolates, and crepes,
I stayed in my room doing Jane Fonda tapes.
I maintained my weight of two pounds and a half,
