I'm sure all of you who trade seeds are either tired of having to use too much postage or 3 stamps to make the 52 cents required on bulky envelopes and small bubble envelopes. In talking with the crew at my local post office they agree!
I just went to the USPS page and put in a suggestion to create a 52 cent stamp. I think if enough of us show interest they might consider it.
If you want to add your voice just go to:
www.usps.com
Then at the bottom click on Contact us. Then Email Us. You have to put something in Select a Topic and Comment Type , I chose stamps then General Inquiry.
It's worth a try!

I want a 52 cent stamp!
In the past, they had a "make up stamp" or you could buy a ten and one cent stamp for the difference. If they'd stop raising the prices, we wouldn't need all those kooky amounts! LOL And if they are going to keep changing them, they need to keep coming up with the corresponding fat mail stamp. LOL
Well I went to the PO yesterday and they found some old you lickem 50 cent stamps for me so I was able to get those and some 2 cent stamps! Lucky me!
X
I bet they still taste like eeewwwww too. LOL
Like, you really think i'm gonna be licking those things? I though i could drop a bit of tuna juice on them and let the cats do it! LOL
X
hahahaha And with those sandpaper tongues, there might not be any glue or paper left!!
Well you certainly have a point there!
X
(wondering if X has to pull pieces of stamps off kitty tongues!)
lol .. actually i'd have to be digging out of the litter box .. these rascals have show an affinity for stamps .. I love it when I get that I'm not doing anything look when there are stamps or leaves stuck between their teeth.
X
The only problem with suggesting it is that there will be an expectation that we want to pay 52 cents for a 1 oz letter.
LOL Soferdig! I guess it needs to be carefully stated that the stamp is for fat or extra heavy mail.
X! You have to stop. Now I envision you flossing those poor cats!
Wha? Lol .. I can just see me trying to floss Barney & Feif's teeth. My cat's are feral, I have to bribe them with kitty treats just to touch them and tape them to the floor with duct tape to clip their toenails (that is if I can catch them. They seem to know when treats are treats or bribes to get them close enough to grab), all the time trying to avoid their 18 razor sharp claws of terror! When they go to the vet I have to unobtrusively herd them into the bathroom the night before so I can get them into the carrier the next day. The second they see that thing, Barney turns into Freddy Kruger and Feif turns into Cujo. Nothin more scarier than a ticked off cat.

I had a teacher who confronted me stating that my comment proved "that you have never dealt with teens in a classroom!" I said well I think I have faced even more. Have you ever tried to draw blood from a feral cat?
LOL!
A postal clerk told me today that they expect prices to go up the 1st of the year due to gas prices.
I guess they pretty much get their way since we don't get to vote on it. LOL
I'm confused about the 52 cents y'all are talking about when mailing a bubbler. I went to the post office yesterday to try and buy stamps to mail a bubbler and the clerk told me it would cost 63 cents; 39 cents plus 24 cents for each additional ounce. I told her that I have had bubblers mailed to me with a postal strip for 52 cents. She told me the person mailing to me must have a bulk permit or some other high volume mailing discount. Anyway, I bought 39 cent stamps and 24 cent stamps. Got the 39 cent catipillar and the 24 cent butterfly...cute as pie.
Up again! I just bought birthday stamps!
Maggie
I bought a 48 cent and a 4 cent both self adhesive.
Cordeledawg, I have not had to send a sasbe yet just extra postage for a fat regular one. When you send a sasbe what do you put it in to mail it?
It must not have been a small bubble mailer, 5 x 6 inches in size. Small white envelopes that are bulky go for 52 cents as well.
Riverland, I just mail the bubble envelope with labels inside and stamps for the turn around. Unless they are fat seeds like canna lily, use a small white envelope and small cell bubble wrap. Much cheaper and just as good.

When I mail an sasbe, I've enclosed a note to reference the reason, usually a return label and 64 cents in stamps. The recipient re-uses the bubbler I'm sending and covers the used postage and address. Likewise, when I mail a bubbler with seeds enclosed, it's always a minimum of 64 cents. Oops, Is this thread referencing just regular envelopes?
