The butterfly was in flight. I did not alter the photo and the blooms look large in the picture I posted. I don't think it is confetti however.
Who wants a Spring Roundup in GA ?
Elaine,, looking forward to meeting you,,
Hope this cold weather doesn't hurt your little plants. I spent all afternoon putting my stuff back in my temporary greenhouse.. whew... we are suppose to have temperatures back down in the 20's.. can you believe it???
Elaine (in Lizella)
Hi Elaine ... I'm just sooo excited! I sure hope everything works out. And no I'm not believing this weather! I already have 18 varieties of tomatoes, 5 varieties of peppers and 2 varieties of cucumbers out. I'm using EB's and self watering pots, but there's no way I can move them. There's no where to put them!! I can put all my herbs back in the GH but everything else will just have to wing it. :-(
Elaine, can you put sheets over your EBs? That would protect some I would think...it is giong down into the twenties here tonight, so they say...hmmmm!
I added a few things to my list today too. Today I dug up some Autum Joy Sedum, Rozeanne Hardy Geranium, and some Verbena bonariensis (tall and purple). Let me know if you want any.
Oooooo..I want Verbena please! Thanks!!!
JanetS
Wow you are quick Janet! I'll put your name on all 4.
Thanks so much...LOL I wanted that to go into my new Iris, Lily bed....it will look great with those with the height it has....just happened to be on at the right moment..LOL
Does anybody have Creeping Red Sedum? I've saw it in a catalog somewhere, loved it. It blooms red all summer.
It seems like I may have that....will check to be certain, when it warms up some...lol
Does anyone have any Crinum Lilies they can divide and trade with me? Looking for pinks, reds and stripes. Thanks Catherine
Janet, you really DO have a nursery don't you? I'd love to have some if you can spare it. BTW I've posted a picture of your babies in another message on the Georg. Gard. forum.
Coby
Coby, I will see what the name on mine is if I can find the tags...LOL Do you have a picture of the one you are trying to find? Catherine, I have Crinum that were my Granny's....I would be happy to share if you can come and dig one up...lol they are large and deep...they are the white ones with the pink stripes....can't think of the name right now, but they are quite common...
Only saw picture in catalog. Couldn't find it even in our Plant Files. According the catalog it's : Sedum Spurium (Creeping Red Sedum or Dragon's Blood) Only noticed onBeginner's Landsc. forum LarissaH some of her pictures has the label Dragon's Blood but is still too small ro recognize. Should be bright red (hardy) ground cover, evergreen with bright red star-like flowers from June - Sept.
Catherine, I may have crinum too. I'm waiting to see if those potted are resurrected. So far mine in the garden have come up, but not in the pots. If I do find any living they will be dark pink.
I bought two more at the Oakhurst Gardens plant sale a milk & wine and a pale pink. I was excited, you don't see them for sale too often!!
GGG
JanetS, you may think I'm kidding, but I looked Braselton, GA up in my rand mcnally and it wasn't mentioned! If you were close enough, I'd take you up on that digging! My favorite flower has always been the lily, but these Crinum lilies are new to me this spring! I LOVE them. I can't find any to buy anywhere, but apparently they are an older plant. I vow to find some!
GGG - I love them all, but I do think the milk & wine are my favorite!
cn
I have the Milk and Wine..that is what I have..LOL I am north on interstate 85 exit 126....Chateau Elan Exit...check that out I bet you can find Chateau Elan on there...lol
Janet, do you know how long the bloom last on the milk and wine? Get ready.....I bought my first one this year...1 huge bulb....my splurge was $20 plus shipping. Hard to swallow but I had never seen them before and it is so pretty in the picture. Planted it in Jan. it is now up about 2". I hope it is as pretty in person. You are about 60 miles from me..would have been worth the drive and the digging. I did most of my ordering right before I discovered Daves Garden.
chris
I bid lots for mine at the GPPA auction last year.. When I posted the pic on the PF, I was told that it wasn't milk and wine.. oh well. I'm going to relocate to a wetter area, as I need to fill that spot in. I think I've seen them listed on the growers outlet site too.
Susan
I know the shipping is high on those...when I first came onto DG I sent one to someone in trade and I was very surprised at how much those things weigh...lol I am sorry Chris I can not tell you how long the blooms last, it seems to me it is several days to maybe weeks....maybe someone else can help out...here is a picture of some of mine last year..not the best picture, but you can see the colors.
This is what I bought so I will cross my fingers. The bulb looked awesome when I got it and it is growing so that is a great start.

wow.. those colors are pretty vivid !!
:)
Susan
Yes, I wonder if they are enhanced, I haven't seen the dark Peppermint stripes in the Milk and Wine crinium I have seen before..they are pretty!
I have to tell you, Elaine, there isn't much time that something is not in bloom, and when it is at it's peak, it is truly breathtaking to me, at least!
Wow, now yours is that dark peppermint pink...very pretty! How is everything going? I dmailed last week, but you may have been too busy, with all of this crazy weather and the holiday!
Pretty Jim :)
Thanks Janet and Susan.
Janet sometimes Bobbie comes on and she will open mail and not tell me and I don't know that I have mail unless I just happen to go in or sometimes I check it. We are hanging in but not to good at times. Bobbie never complains just keeps doing the best with the hand she has been dealt. And yes this is some crazy weather for sure. Some one mentioned yesterday that the temperature on Easter was colder than Thanksgiving, Christmas and also New Years. Strange indeed.
Well, I understand! Tell her she is in my thoughts and so are you! Sometimes it is more difficult than others and right now is one of those times for me.
Keeping you and Bobbie in my prayers Jim :) And just so you know... I accidentally hide bills from my husband all the time too. ;)

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I am going to take Bobbie to the funeral tomorrow. It is about a 2 hour drive but she says she wants to go. It will be difficult on her I know. Thanks again.
Hugs for you and Bobbie too,
Elaine (in Lizella)
Hi!
Do we have a current list of attendees?
I have not gotten any requests for trades from quite a few people, and, in fact have not see too many trade lists. I know some people are low on plants right now and they've stated that fact here on this thread, but am I missing some lists somewhere? Or trade requests?
Time is getting short for me to pot up plants and have them look decent for the trade in one month's time. Please, step up with your requests and your lists, if yuo have them!
Brenda
Brenda- I think the list of attendees at the top of this thread is up to date as far as I know. The trade lists are a little lacking - I do hope more will get things posted. Trade Lists - [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com]
I have had very few requests either, don't worry, I'm sure there will be plenty to trade at the swap, there always is. I would just go ahead and pot up what ever you have plenty of and get them labeled.
As I count, we have 34 DG'rs listed and 48 total with the guests that plan to come. Ther are still quite a few that have not sent the $9.00 for the BBQ lunch. It is still early for that tho.

PJ, I have just put the check in the mailbox for me and Jane BBQ. Sorry so late.
I have most of my spots ready for the trades that so many are bringing for me, and most of the requests I am filling are potted up and labeled. I am almost ready to go back for seconds! :)
chris
ps. If I can keep them from growing up the plant shelf, I will have 2 extra moonvines that I grew from seed. (they are about 1' tall and wrapping around my cords) They were supposed to be very hard to germinate, but I got 6 out of 6 when I wanted 1.

I have several winter sown seedlings that aren't on my list that I do plan to bring. Too afraid I'd disappoint anyone who asks for some of these that don't survive until then. Can you tell I lack gardening confidence?
Brenda. I will be putting my list together and posting. In the past, I've always been a last minute lister.. If I get it up more than two weeks prior.. that will be good for me.. I don't make many requests if any till then either!!
:)
Susan
