Donna in Douglas, GA(Zone 8b)

Let me talk with Mr. Brantley next week to see what kinda of deal I can get. Then we can talk about delivery, I'm use to hauling a 20' trailer when ever we go to Eufaula. Hubby will mostly be coming with me just as long as I stay off I-75......HATES the tracffic!! LOL!!!

Let me know how many bags you MIGHT want, please d-mail me!!
I could haul about 1500 - 2000 lbs 30 to 40 fifty pound bags! I more I buy I'm sure the better the price!!!!

I'll give it my best shot!

WHOOOOPPPPPPPSS Douglas is way different than Douglasville now isn't it.. ??!!

It's like the time a notary job offer called me and asked if I'd drive down to Decatur County GA and I had to look it up and told her the price and she balked and stated that I had listed Decatur as a place I'd be willing to travel to do jobs. Decatur County is not anywhere near Decatur GA..

I get it now!! Thanks for the d-mail getting me straight!

:)

Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Azalea, just joined DG a week ago and came across this thread. Can I come too? I will send you the $$for BBQ. I am somewhat confused about the trading. Do I pick online what I want and send a message or can I come and see what's there. We just moved to US from Holland and so everything is new to me. In fact, somewhere I made a journal with a photo and you see what I mean. I have nothing to trade BUT,........ I make one good choc. chip and oatmeal cookie! Is that worth something?

Tuliplady - For sure, come amd meet lots of fun gardeners. Cookies would be great - we need some sort of dessert! You may pick online to be sure you get something you want, and come and pick other things too. bring a friend if you like.

Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Great, looking forward to meeting y'all. Is it still in Jonesboro/1st Methodist Church May 19? or has that changed? I saw on the trading thread that May 19 was alr. booked?
Is there somebody who wants a ride, I live in Atlanta (Dunwoody/Doraville area) , I got a good size truck so plenty of room for our "harvest".
Coby

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Yes, It will be at the Methodist church on Main St, Jonesboro May 19th. - I guess I should go back and delete the info about the Beach Pavilion, we could not get that one booked.

Peachtree City, GA(Zone 7b)

Welcome to DG Tuliplady, it will be my first roundup and it sounds like it will be loads of fun. You are welcome to whatever I have listed... for a cookie. :)
chris

Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks for welcome Chris, this sounds like a fun site and good group of people. I'll make a huge load of cookies, if you can see my diary (that is to say..if I managed it correctly!) you can tell I need LOTS and LOTS of cuttings.
I wonder... is everybody walking around with name tags?? or do all of you know each other already for long time?

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

name tags and some of us know each other :) And you will too. My picture is already here. Click on my name

The last few weeks done nothing but study the Georgia Gardening Guide and have a huge list of "wishes" , some of which I know are easy to split (in fact need it too) , they are:"
Bleeding Heart (prfer the white or red ones)
Butterfly Bush (Buddleia) also wt or blue-purple
Lantana camara (yellow-orange)

Does anybody in Atlanta area have these....and is ready to part with them?

Is this the place to put this request in? Or should I go to the Trading forum? Still new to DG's, I'm sorry if I'm at wrong place.

Dacula, GA(Zone 7b)

Hi TulipLady, welcome to Dave's and Georgia. I have Nanho blue butterfly bush - for a cookie. It will be about 2ft. tall, but they grow fast. (Oatmeal chocolate chip is my alltime favorite!) Becky

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

And when you click on Susan's name you will see me there also. Susan is the tall pretty one and me, I am just tall.

Sure hope my bleeding heart comes back. I tried rooting some of it last year without any luck.

Lula, GA

Hi, folks!

Well, now I'm really going to get busy potting up stuff. Just like many of you, I'm waiting to see what pops up in the next month or two! And I really getting more excited about seeing everyone!

Coby, I can start a Honeycomb buddleia for you but is is yellow. And Jim, last fall I had some white bleeding heart seedlings- if they show, you and Coby can have one. They live for years, even tho you think they've died every July!!

And being lazy, there are some other plants/bulbs I posted on the western NC RU thread, so if you see anythng, let me know by D-mail!

http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/682568/

Okey, I'll add a few more things to my GA RU trade list!!!

Brenda

Mableton, GA(Zone 7a)

I believe a DG (Donna, gapeahen) member will be bringing worm castings to the GA RU on 5/19/07. I've spoken with the farm owner, and he can also send worms at around $12 a pound. His worms are red wigglers. Let Donna know if you are coming and see if you can place an order!

YES, YES! Beclu727 and Wholyhosta. Whatever you have I'd love to have some too! That sounds so greedy, doesn't it?

Yellow Honeycomb budleia ??? GREAT! does not exist or very difficult to get in Netherlands. White and purple or blue-purple are very common. I'd love to have the yellow.
Actually I have started some seeding process. Don't know if the seeds will so something but I can try. If it works I'll take some to the round-up.

I will cetainly make plenty of oatmeal cookies. They're my favorites too. Oatmeal butterscotch - ver had that??? yummmm. No good for when you're on a diet, but I just work a little next day in yard. Looking at my yard I can eat tons of cookies I think, there's going to be a lot perspiring and hard work: rotor tilling, building, digging etc.

Peachtree City, GA(Zone 7b)

What size lantana are you looking for? I have a variety that I can split ( it has gotten quite large for where I put it) but it grows about 4-5' tall. Is that ok?
chris

Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Chris, "what size Lantana" was this a question for me? If so, I'll take any size you can/want to get rid of. Which variety is it? 4-5' tall, yes, that would be okay.
That'll be a couple more cookies, right??

Peachtree City, GA(Zone 7b)

Tuliplady, yes was for you, I have enough if anyone else would like some. I am not sure what variety but it is yellow/orange. It dies and i cut it to the ground every year, and always come back bigger.
chris

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

I have the one below that I can get a rooting of when it puts out. I know the id but the mind isn't working this morning. It gets about 5-6 foot high and 8 foot wide. Gets bigger each year. I think the blooms are white, pink and yellow

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Beautiful pic Jim - I have this one too. I think it's called Confetti, but there are others that look similar. They root pretty fast, but I usually start them in mid summer.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Chris, please bring a piece of your lantana for me. I'm looking for some. I hope ro have "somethings" there for y'all.

Peachtree City, GA(Zone 7b)

Lantana for Cordele, got it
chris

I posted this on the RU forum but ya'll might not see it there:

I have so-o-o-o-o many plants in my gardens, and I want to know what you're looking for that you have not asked for yet. Because maybe I haven't listed something because I forgot I have, or I think that no one would like any of 'that old plant'!!!

My want list is, and I will add to as I remember what I want---

Iris- Japanese, Louisiana
Clematis- any white or blue
Buddleia- Black Knight
Perennial Vines- hybrid crossvines
Gold Heart Bleeding Heart
Rarer Daffodil bulbs.
Mini hosta I don't have (See my hosta/trade list).
Any Oriental lily bulbs
Any variety of Sempervivum (hen & chicks)

This is my want list- what is yours?
If you think of something you're looking for specifically or generally, please ask, and I will let anyone know if I have it!!

And, no, I'm not going to list ALL the plants in my gardens!! lol! I'm having enough to do just to get my hosta and brugmansia collection labeled!

Brenda

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Shucks Brenda, I wanted to see the whole list. LOL

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

So is Lantana a "hot" item for the GRU? LOL I have so many different kinds, if it is something a lot of you would like I will see what I can bring....Chris, how do you divide a Lantana? I have never tried to do that before...but like I said, I am willing to try. I have "Orange Spice" that gets over six feet tall, and I think maybe six other kinds in my gardens from trailing to shorter shrub types. "Confetti" (pink and lavendar and yellow I think) white, yellow and lavendar trailing types, "Miss Huff" and a really pretty red one, I can't think of the name of, and a variegated yellow one if it returns this year....so let me know and I will see what I can do about this...LOL

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Hey Janet - I'd like to try one of your red Lantanas - I have Miss Huff and Confetti I think. Guess I should have put theis on the trade list tho.

Please see this thread on

WORM CASTING ORDERS FOR ROUND-UP!!

http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/697802/

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Janet I just lay a lower limb on the ground and place a rock on it and it will root in a month or so, then I just cut it from the mother plant and pull the roots from the ground. Most of the time the lower limbs will root on their own without any help. Just check the limbs touching the ground. That is the bush type and I don't know about the trailing kind.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Okay, I will check them out...lol...they are usually slow to come ut here...takes good summer heat for mine to start growing...so I am not sure what I will have before the RU...but I will let you know.

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Yeah Janet mine is slow also. Probably a fall roundup item.
I hope to start listing item I intend to bring as soon as everything starts putting out. Do see a few things now.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Also, was curious, do you guys bring seed packets as well? I have never been. But I have some Amaryllis seed I could package up to bring. Most of them would be surprises, but it might be fun to see what you get..LOL

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

Brenda, do you have an extra white bleeding heart I could have?

I'd also like a lantana, red if possible, but any other color would be great. I just love lantana's!

I have a beautiful crossvine that I'd love to root for anyone who wants them. First though, what is the easiest way to root them?

Carmen

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Carmen, I am going to look at my lantana and if I can separate some I will be happy to bring you a red. The red do not get but about three to four feet tall.
