I see the square one too so do I get second prize?

Quote from Huey Lewis and the News:

Dont tell me that Im crazy
Dont tell me Im nowhere
Take it from me
Its hip to be square

Dah...dah...dah,dah,dah,dah...It`s hip to be square!

:)

i do know cold weather is a factor here because the bindweed turns pinkish .. maybe it is the damp cold weather..that you all have the dry cold weather

Well, here is where I found it
http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/130758/

and I think the prize will be if we can get the grower to isolate the 4 ribbed flowers and send us some seeds...

X - I see the I.tricolor and what looks like 2 different I.purpureas...are you seeing more than this...with combination of my 'miltary' style training and your photo pro perception ,you may be seeing some details that are eluding me...

gardener2005 - you're singing the new 'Song of the South'...I'm still hearing Morning Mood by Grieg...

Time for peerpressure on Noell to get in gear to isolate those seeds...

I already d-mailed her.. perhaps we could tempt her with riches?

Ron - I'm still a tyro .. when I said types I meant the double and the blue and pink. Lol. I'm learning as fast as I can!

Had an extra petal on this pink Tie Dye the other morning. That's it
jutting out on the right.
Edited to say I got an error msg saying my pic wasn't in the right format. Strange, it's in the same format it's always in.
Plus it said the photo was submitted.

Your plants look great!!! I have greenhouse envy!

Nice JMG flowers, patootie! You will have a colorful winter!

Beth, It's great having a g house. The down side is the outrageous gas bills in the winter. $300.00 a month plus. I still wouldn't trade it for anything. I did go to
levelized which helps a lot. We built a 12 x 24 for 1000.00. The fiberglass
had tripled in cost since 1985 when we built our first one.

ALL building materials seem to have tripled in cost in the past decade!

Thanx Joseph. The bugs will eventually get after these and I will just let them go.
The mites are very determined in the winter g house. I weary of the battle.
I noticed today there are frogs in the g house and at times I have wild
birds in there. They fly in on warm winter days when I open the door. I have to be so careful using poisons. I may try the messenger but I would hate to find 2 headed, 6 legged frogs. LOL

Jackie,

If it is warm in your greenhouse, you can try to control the mites with predator insects. You can buy lacewing larvae that you can release onto your plants and they will clean off most of the mites before too long. Or, you can just start over with new plants, which would be the less expensive way to do it.

I've noticed that people often ask about the metallic beetles they find eating their MG's,so I thought I'd post a few photo links
Close up of golden and other tortoise beetle's Charidotella sexpunctata.

subfamily Charidotella > Xenocassis ambita

Xenocassis puella is a closely related species

Joseph, I'm going to rescue the frogs and find a way to keep the birds out.
I think it's time to take back my g house.
