Gardening Wisdom - Quotes, Poems, Etc.

I just wanted to share this with you all. And ask you to share your own gardening wisdom.

"When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant." -author unknown

Yeah... I read that before too. Had planted some "flower seeds" from a seed packet labeled impatiens. I thought they looked like weeds when sprouting. Pulled a few up, yielded very easily from the ground. So me thought, oops ..valuable flower! Next thing I knew...I had foxtail grass waving all over the place. The pumpkins loved the waving of the tails.. but I yanked those things up before you could spell f-ox-!!.. Yes, they still yielded very easy from the ground!

Be very careful about shared plants. There's usually a reason that there is plenty
to share! I learned this the hard way when I first started gardening.

A weed is a flower someone else thought look "cute" until it takes over your garden and you have to dig to China and back before you can get rid ofeven half of it's roots from your garden! ;0)
