Hope this is the right place? If not I am sorry. I have transplanted my Butterfly bush and have no clue if I should prune it back, or just he dead flowers on it?
Thanks,
Butterfly Bush prunning
if you cut it back, the roots won't have so much green to support, and they can concentrate on sinking their feet in good. Don't cut it back, though, more than 1/3.
After the freeze and the sap goes down, you can cut it back further if you want to.
I would cut it back in march. Cut off the dead flowers now
Christine
I cut mine back in fall, no problem. There's a whole big thread about this in the classic threads forum, if you're interested
Shoot, sorry, wrong thread.
