Coffee and ... for Thursday, September 14th

Central, WI(Zone 4a)

Hi everyone,
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I feel like I'm home again!

scooter,
LOL,,,Love that pic of Toby

Sheila,
I'm so not ready for the days to get shorter but have certainly noticed it lately,,,ggrrrrr Whoa who put a quarter in you this morning,,,all that glass cleaning. If it were my house I'd have to put sunglasses on,,,LOL I shouldn't joke like that, I make myself sound like a slob. I do the windows twice a year and Only the insides. I refuse to do outsides. The first rain makes them look just as they did before washing. Awesome on the $10 insurance. LOL @ the not dead. Forgot to mention, a customer was nice enough to share the fact that the husband of a freind of hers died from a tooth infection. Yeah, thanks for sharing. No wonder I couldn't get off the couch for a week and 1./2. Gosh, Bonnie and I haven't had our weekly chat for the better part of the summer. I'll be gone again this Monday too.

sarv,
How true, life does go on no matter how much we worry. It would serve me well to remember that! I've been eyeing a Ramona Clematis for a few years now. Maybe next year I'll put one in and enjoy it for 1 summer,,,LOL You good girl you,,,all that exercising. Don't know if the scale went down, never weighed myself. If it did, it's back up there now, gggrrrr

Darius,
Your feast sounds wonderful! Very interesting about the brix and refractometer. I swear you are a Jackie of all trades,,,well I couldn't say Jack,,,LOL When does the stomping begin? I just keep picturing that I Love Lucy episode,,,LOL Glad to hear you got a lot of your stuff from storage. You'll sleep well tonight I would think.

cec,
Sounds like you still have a lot blooming. Know what you mean about clean up though. Doesn't seem like it should be that time of year already. My lovely hostas are starting to go into their winter nap mode ;o{{{{ Glad to hear you're feeling better. It's so hard when it's gloomy for so many days in a row. I'm going to look into one of those light boxes this year. Dr, Shrink suggested one last year,,but what does he know,,,LOL I am stocking up on wonderful books for this winter. I have Science of Gardening, Botany, Pests and Diseases, Well tended Perennial Garden, Illustrated Guide to Identifying plants, Identifying plant families, Illustrated Dictionary of Gardening, A-Z Perennials, Flowers and Plants all coming and a couple that I can't remember. Just a little light reading for the winter,,,LOL

Mary,
Sounds like you've been busy in the yard with the Iris and the weeds. Seems those weeds are never ending. Terrible about the fires. I really hope they can get them out soon. I didn't read or know about that article you mentioned. I'd love to read it. I'll d-mail you if you wouldn't mind sending it here too. It's great that you have access to good compost. Makes a world of difference. Good idea about writing the name on the backside. I'll definitely have to remember that one.

kooger,
Sounds painful. I suppose it's more painful now though. Good luck with the move over the weekend. So sorry to hear about your cousins son. The fair sounds great, especially the 2 goodies. You were very kind to your DH about his remark. I think I would have thrown it in the first garbage can I saw, walked to the car and left. Oh, and not spoken to him for about a week. Guys can be such butts.

Maria,
Coffee bread sounds wonderful. Are you sick? You mentioned a cough. O.K., after reading some more, it's obvious that you've not been well. What is wrong? Both collage's are beautiful.

Ann,
Thank-You. Still the earlier one. From about a month or so ago. Finally got that tooth yanked Tuesday before last. It's healing well, thanks Lord! I'll have to check your link. I never heard anything about that. What is with people anyway? Jeepers, it's getting so a person doesn't want to go anywhere. Good luck with the new ringer.

Pauline,
Glad to see you. Welcome to coffee. Those cats are so smart. Little stinkers. Dogs too. Mooshka will bug me until I get up and say What do you want, show me what you want. She takes me right were she wants me to go,,,usually to her treat drawer. Bill always asks if she wants something and what it is. I always tell him to ask her, she'll tell him. He looks at me like I'm nuts,,,but he's starting to realize it's true. Happy sculpting.

Bonnie,
Glad it's nothing too serious with Mr. B.,,,,,,Ah ha,,,,SHEILA,,,you're busted,,,LOL Thanks, I won't run away again,,,it was that darned tooth that did it. I didn't even get on the puter for about a week. After a couple of days Marie called to see what was wrong. I wasn't posting in the threads I had been off and on, when not working in the yard. She said she Knew something was wrong when I wasn't on the puter,,,Yep! Puter junkie that I am,,,lol Your afternoon sounds like it was Wonderful!

Deanna,
We wouldn't think that,,,,no worries. Yes, it's the tried and true,,,,well, most of the time. Sometimes things make liars out of us. The photo and EE's are great. I never got my big ones in the ground this year. However, I did splurge on some Very cool black ones. Actually splurged a lot on annuals for the pots on the deck. Will be bringing lots of stuff in the house for the winter and doing a lot of praying that it makes it to Spring. We're smokers too. Filthy habit, but so hard to quit. Know what you mean about cleaning though. I have a crystal chandelier in the Living Room,,,Oy Vey, cleaning that is a Major project. It's quite large,,,at least to me it is. Gorgeous but a pain in the rear to clean,,,,so many pieces, Have to go section by section.

Casey,
Sounds like quite a project. I never minded refinishing furniture. How great to run into an old friend. Now I'm convinced I'm buying a light box!

McC,
Ouch! Glad to hear things are looking a little better in the options dept. It's too hard to do some things when you have your own business. It does have ti's pro's, but also some con's. Thank-You for the ww. I'm feeling Much better now. It stinks to be sick! Would rather have time off when I could actually do something,,,but I won't ever take it,,,too many bill's right now. Bill is doing fine. We're having this big point of contention between us right now. Cooking,,,lol,,,silly huh? He gets off work at 4 p.m., I get done at 6 - 6:30 p.m. Call me crazy, but prolly he has time to make dinner in the 2 1/2 hours that he's sitting on the pouter or in his chair watching TV! I get done working and he asks me what's for dinner. I ask, what did you make,,,he say's, nothing, that's your job. Holy Hannah that's Not a good thing to say to me. What, because I'm a female, cooking is my Job? No, the Salon is my Job. Do you eat? Well, then you can help cook. He's made dinner a few times since then.

Well, it's been over an hour since I started this long winded post and it's definitely past my bedtime, so, nighty night.

See you tomorow,
Kelly
