Thanks scooterbug, it has been many a year since we have had the birth of a little baby horsie!!
Coffee and ..... for Sunday, September 10th
Hi everyone. It's almost bed time and I am about ready to lay me down to sleep. It's been a busy day. One of my first tasks was to grab the bug spray and kill a bunch of wasps and yellow jackets. I keep finding nests and early morning right after daylight is the best time to get them because they are cold and not active, and everybody is home. I spotted these nests several days ago but had to wait for a calm morning to spray them.
With all the talk about how expensive it is to have a pool and maintain it I would have to say that in my estimation it is not worth it. However, if I lived in the humid south or in Las Vegas I would probably have a different opinion.
I went to take some of the plants I got from Ponditis yesterday to my neighbor and helped her get them planted. Her health is not too good and she can't do the digging, so I wielded the shovel and sometimes other heavy tools to make planting holes and she kept bringing better soil from her vegie garden to use to refill the holes. We got everything planted and she is happy. Then I did a lot of weeding in preparation for planting my new stuff. I kept at it until I couldn't see well enough to tell weeds from good stuff, fed the horses, took Fritz for a quick walk and came inside to find myself some dinner.
WS, you must be relieved that your sister is doing better. I thought it was probably her pain meds making her hallucinate. You didn't mention possible injuries from her fall so I am guessing that she didn't break anything. I know you have been frustrated by being so far away and unable to do anything for her. I hope you get to go see her soon.
The only fire that I can see was putting up smoke from at least 9 different locations today. It is on the other side of the valley, about 40 miles away and burning on a steep forested mountain. I looked tonight after dark to see if flames were visable, but there is too much smoke over there. On the other side of me, to the east, the moon came up near the location of the 2 week old fire that made a lot of smoke this morning, and it was a normal color. That is a good sign that they made progress on it today since the sun was red again this morning when it came up in about the same place.
Darius, maybe this mix up with the pre test meds is a blessing in disguise, and you will have more time for a good relaxed visit and for your brother to help you. The scope test can come later, or not at all. I guess I am a rebel, but I don't do the doctor thing, haven't been in many years, and I think all this testing and stuff is just supporting them and draining the taxpayers pockets. Plus, people get all tied in a knot about going for the tests and waiting for results, and false positive tests add to the stress. Then they finally decide nothing is wrong and it's been a week or a month of H***. No thanks. Call me skeptical, yes, I agree, I am, and I think most of it is unnecessary. All of us will die of something someday anyhow.
Fritz and I ran 11 deer out of the pasture tonight and just after we got back in the house 2 more showed up. I hope Scout can handle them, he is on duty at the edge of the vegie garden barking, so I hope they take note, Dog in Garden, Stay Out! The grapes aren't worth it.
Time for bed. Goodnight, sleep well and wake up refreshed.
Hi everyone,
I can't really say "Good evening" as it's actually already morning here. I was afraid that you'd all think I'd forgotten about you and wouldn't get here to take care of the link. I've just been very busy. Didn't get all that much accomplished, but busy nonetheless! Just finished putting together a veggie pie that I'll bake for supper (was going to say tomorrow, but it's actually going to be today).
sarv, you might want to see a dermatologist. A couple of years ago I developed an extremely itchy spot which turned out to be eczema. I'd never had it before, but now seem to develop it on the tops of my feet every now and then. A little steroid salve takes care of it just about immediately.
woodspirit, glad that your sister seems somewhat better. I do hope that she continues to improve and that you will be able to get out there to see her soon.
I'd planned on responding to everyone, but it's just too late. I don't want to end up sleeping half the day away --- there's still too much to do! Will be back to post the link in a minute.
Here's the link for the new day. See you there.
