It looks like the pest that was around my seedlings this summer and it laid eggs inside the leaves and they turned into little worms in the leaves. http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2471084
I think this is what caused it.

I think that's a good guy. It looks like a long-legged fly (Dolichopodidae) to me which is a fly that is a predator on aphids and other small insects. Both the larvae and adults are predators. Here's a link... http://bugguide.net/node/view/53549 .

Night_Bloom and cegoins

Thank you for your responses. Looking at both images I tend to believe it's the long legged fly. Coloring is very similiar. I know so little about insects that I can't even attempt to identify, but I am starting a group of insect photos with descriptions.
