This is the one that had 6 white spokes on all the flowers last week. Now they all have only 5 spokes.

My only morning glory in the ground, blue Mt Fuji coming up on the

Another one a bit torn but still nice. This has seven spokes and non variegated leaves. I think it is a Yougiro.

Gardener2005, the Yougiro is lovely.

OH so many pretty ones. That Purple flaked is outstanding Zem.

OK wanna see something weird, earlier this year just after we got this plot tilled and I was making ready for all the rows of glories I was going to plant, I got my bamboo poles into the ground, planted my seeds, they started off rather quickly growing, I then placed my weedblock rolls down and started piling my grass clippings onto the weedblock, later this strip started having weeds take over, so I sprayed down the front side and back side of this strip garden with my roundup, I have now gotten some strange blooms, deformed if you will, and the only thing I can guess is that the roundup somehow must have had something to do with this???? I read about the "messenger" issue earlier in the threads, but this strip is in the front acre, nowhere near my brugs or dats that I used messenger on, so I know it can't be from that product.......................

any clues? weather???? aliens????

Whatever it is, Laurrie, I like the effect!

lol YES they are fascinating, I am noticing alot of them are like this down that strip, but only the first sets of blooms, then they seem to adjust themselves and get back to normal LOL
weird!

Gamleby, Sweden(Zone 7a)

OhioBreezy...Please make the redish one like that permanently. If I knew what happened or made them that way be sure I would replicate it :))

I love those strange ones too! I think this is a Chocolate Silk from Gerrris2. First one to open and the color is lovely. Or is it Rose Silk?

I Here is the one I called Lavender Silk yesterday. I think it may be a Blue Silk Instead. Anyway, it is my favorite this year.

Yuki. This is the only one I'm sure of this year. It's the only one my cat did not remove the label from. LOL.

Oh! just loving that one, it looks really blue in the pic, is it that blue in "person"? Gosh, if you get any seed...... Gorgeous!

Robertsdale, AL(Zone 8b)

OhioBreezy, from you comment - "but only the first sets of blooms, then they seem to adjust themselves and get back to normal.." , it sounds like the developing flower buds were affected by some overspray of the roundup and the blossoms developed after the incident are okay. Does that sound logical??

I agree with the majority - they are kinda cool!!

The Blue Silk is very blue. I will try to get some seeds from it. They seem to have started blooming late this year, so I will have to hope for a late first freeze so seeds will have time to dry.

Beautiful flowers everyone!

OhioBreezy - Those blooms are absolutely amazing! If that could be made into a permanent trait, it would be wonderful. When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought you had posted a clematis pic accidentally. Stunning

Just wondering... My purple feathered Mgs don't seem to produce any seeds... Is this normal?

Arlan, yes I agree your definition is logical, that is exactly what I was trying to say, just maybe didn't come out correct :) but I do love how they look, I about fell over myself taking photos of them today lol

Zem, my purple feathered always produced tons of seed, keep watching maybe they are just hiding, my first year it took me awhile to notice them

Laurrie

Here is Ipomoea lacunosa lilac form, it has a very small but admirable flower, and cordate leaves.

Here is Japanese morning glory 'Kawaii', it has a growth habit which shows it does not want to twine on a trellis. Interesting.

Thumbnail by

JMG 'Furisode'. The pink is quite nice on this one...there is a pale form that is also growing on this trellis whose seed came right out of the foil packet with the pink. Both are really nice and delicate when looking at it up close and personal.

Here is 'Furisode' pale form.

Here is our mysterious friend 'Cameo Elegance'/'Mini-Bar Rose'/Chidori, it makes a bazillion flowers, and is in its full flowering glory!
