San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

ok...count me in for a second time.....lol.. :)

Wow, what great talent here!
Palmbob, I looked through your journal painting, very nice. I have to admit, my favorite is that finger puppet! LOL, awsome!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Palmbob, I love the finger puppet painting!

Blytheville, AR(Zone 7a)

I just found this site and would love for us to have an art forum. So glad this was suggested---my hand is raised. I would even dare to put some of my art in here. Everything I have seen so far is fantastic art work. Sheverne

sorry I sold it a few years ago. If I ever do another one I will let you know though.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I have really enjoyed seeing all this beautiful artwork that has been shown on this thread and on many other ones in the past. I have a little artistic ability in me, but it wanders in many directions. I don't have enough to create any beautiful painting though. lol My sister is the real artist in the family and would really enjoy seeing many of these masterpieces.

I would love to see a forum where we could showcase many of the artists on DG and give inspiration to others who would love to try their hands at it and possibly get some help.

Beautful paintings everyone. :-)

So....Please? May we have an artists' forum, Dave?

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

renatelynne: While I'd LOVE to have a vase like that (and please do let me know if you ever do another one), my expression "I WANT ONE" was to let you know how absolutely wonderful and awesome I felt the vase is. It's to die for, and you have a great talent! I really wasn't trying to be at all pushy re obtaining the vase. Hope there was no misunderstanding! :>)

Yes, Dave, an artists' forum, please? PLEASE? PUHLEEZZE?

Boerne new zone 30, TX(Zone 8b)

*giggle.... no problem. I didn't think much of it when I did it... wasn't a favorite of mine... but others love it a bunch.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Wow . . . It's nice to see the amount of feedback this thread has already generated. I don't know the criteria (in terms of numbers) required to get a new forum started, but it's apparent that there are a good deal of artist as well as art lovers interested.

I didn't give a lot of thought to a title of the proposed new forum when I suggested the idea, but I'm sure what ever Admin decides will be appropriate. And for all I know, they may rather let us make a short list and vote on one? Either way would be fine by me . . . if and when a decision is made to add one for the fine arts. I'm just happy to see so many folks excited about the whole idea and even happier to see folks showing us their art. :)

Cambria, CA(Zone 10a)

I'm always searching around on the forums to see what the creative folks on this site have done. It'd be great to have them in one forum. I vote arts forum please.

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

I'm so excited I want to vote twice!! Or 3 times!! Or 4, or 5, or........ LOL

renatelynne - so glad you took my enthusiasm in the vein in which it was intended. I DO love that Rhino!

DFW area, TX(Zone 7b)

Yes, an Arts Forum, please.

For those who are unaware of them, may I also suggest the
two following free artists sites:

www.wetcanvas.com

www.painterskeys.com

They are both excellent resources and have very good forums.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I vote yes for an Arts forum, I think it would be great.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

I second the motion, again...... :D

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

Count me in on the Arts/Artist Forum. There are lots of great visual arts that could be discussed.
I love to do Sculpture and would love to see it included.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Good deal . . . that struck a chord . . . I think "Visual Arts" may be an appropriate - catch all - title for a new forum. Any other ideas sound better?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I think Visual Arts might have a connotation of media like film or TV.

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

I agree Visual arts would cover too broad a field. It would be fun to include sculpture. No big deal though... I paint too, I can bore you just as well with my paintings. LOL

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Yeah you may have a good point there . . . I don't think of it in those terms but others might.

A few other name I thought about were:

Art Studio

Fine Arts and More

Wet Paint (kind of catchie, but doesn't really cover all the bases)

Anyway, those were just a few and it may be a bit premature to worry about a title . . . when we don't even know yet if it will fly. Meanwhile, we can keep spreading the word and see how much more support the idea gets :)

Thanks again for all the input.

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

Art Studio could be a fun name!

Blytheville, AR(Zone 7a)

I like all the names but Art Studio is my favorite. Sure hope this art forum works out. sheverne

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

"Art Studio" or "Fine Arts" would help indicate it is not craft type items, or kiddo's finger paints, etc. I would vote for either one of those.
I can just imagine what the photos for the banner might be!!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

A new forum for the artisans in our midst is here: http://davesgarden.com/place/t/637194/

My one caveat...we all know that some very beautiful artwork is rather adult-themed. But let's keep in mind that DG-appropriate = G-rated ;o)

Enjoy!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Awesome!!!! Thanks Terry :)

Blytheville, AR(Zone 7a)

Great!!!!!!looking forward to looking at all the artwork.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Alright....ya did it, GD....along with the help of everyone else....congratulations... :)

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks to Terry for approval :-)) and to GD for initiating the request.........let's see that art!!!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

And thanks for the G-rating.

DFW area, TX(Zone 7b)

Golly, I war thinking it might be an "R" rating. :o)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I'm glad to see this forum come into being! Heading that way now.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Fantastic....teach decorative painting - more realism than any and work with such mediums as Genesis, oils, acrylics and watercolor..how fantastic to access such a site from my already addicted DG site!!!

Great opportunity for all to learn new mediums or impart new knowledge....

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I vote yes on an Artist forum. I love to paint and would love to learn how to put pics on the putter. BEV
