Marcy I have that verticillata, it was one of the noids you sent me when I won one of your eBay auctions!! Wow I can't wait for mine to bloom, thanks again.

And....August is only HALF over. Ha.
This thread could go on to be the biggest yet.
However, most of my bloomers have slowed down now. The obovata has all but stopped along with the kerrii and shepherdii. The lacunosas still have a few here & there, but nothing is really overdoing it. All the carnosas and pubicalyx seem to be in limbo too. Hope that "Messenger" does the trick soon.

Lacunosa is starting another mass-blooming with this umbel.

And my yellow caudata is trying to keep up with my white...

Samoensis is on its 2nd umbel, with more normal flowers than the last one!

Cv. Minibelle is also going to be blooming a lot soon with this umbel first out.

Beautiful Christina!
That caudata bloom looks absolutly "petable". I have 3 caudata plants that I have had for most of the 3 years I have been collecting, and not one bloom anywhere. I feel lucky to get occational new leaves on those. For me they are very slow growing, non blooming plants. What is your secret to success with them, Christina?
Marcy

Trelleborg, Sweden

When lifting two leaves on my caudata I found these two umbels fully opened. In other places wilted flowers fell out, and totally I found 13 umbels with buds in various sizes. This hoya has gone totally mad!

Years ago when I didn't know better, I potted two caudata together and now it turned out to be one yellow and one white plant that I potted together. Quite exciting to see what each umbel will look like!

Ooooh, I love those hairy little critters!!!
Ann

It took two weeks from the time I found the H.Lobbii buds, and here they are starting to open, on Tuesday.

And here they're all the way opened. I just love the buds before they opened because of the lovely little spots on them.

Other flowers are on H.Compacta, and I have several lacunosa buds.

A little slow right now, but the H.Lobbii is making up for it, by having its first flowers.

Happy Saturday everyone!!

Christine...those are lovely. I am sooo glad I finally am going to get that one. I have been oooing and ahhhhing over those flowers way to long. Ha.
Joanne.....GREAT pics. I have lots of those plants as it has always been one of my favs. Don't we just have it so lucky to have such great advances in photography these days to be able to take such close up pictures of flowers and enjoy them on big computer screens right in front of us?

Marcy, thank you but all the credit goes to Ann. I bought the same camera she has and she so kindly sent me the exact settings she uses to take the wonderful pictures she posts. I am just copying what she does! But I have to tell you I was so excited about the first close ups, I emailed them to all my family! There was a slight breeze outside yesterday (thank you Lord :~) so the photo is not as clear as it could be. I have moved KQ into the house to try a few more shots without the wind to deal with. If they are good I will post one. -joanne

Thanks Joanne and Marcy. All the pictures of H.Lobbii flowers that I've seen, though, have a red corolla and a darker red corona. Maybe I don't give it enough of something or other. Doesn't matter though, thrilled me all to heck just as it is...lol...

Finally got a multiflora to bloom for me. They say it is one of the easier ones, ha ha, I've had mine for three years..

Another one, I believe it is an incrassata/finlaysonii cross. Can't be certain, I'm not at home right now. Don't have internet. I will check to make sure.

Finally, a camphorifolia. I have also had this plant for two years, first time blooming for me.

Yayyyyy, Heather's back on!!! Great to see you here! Maybe you'll come out and play more often.
I love your photos - they are just beautiful - especially the camphorifolia. Beautiful how you've got the sunlight bouncing off the glistening blooms.
Ann

Lovely flowers Heather. Welcome back!

GREAT pictures Heather. Glad to see you back here too. What part of L.A. are you in that you are in zone 9? I am in zone 10 here in Long Beach.
Marcy

Oh, Marcy I couldn't figure that out. I am in Los Angeles, does that make me zone 10? Yipee!!!!

Heather, absolutely gorgeous photos - and flowers!

Here's a small contribution from me before bedtime. A cute little 4 in my kerrii.

Well, it's not a hoya but it is a relative. Here is a ceropegia bud, it will be even cooler looking when it opens!

Wow, that's very cool Ann.

Christina, your H.Kerri flowers are so lovely - that four lobbed corona is amazing! Alas, for me, they are a distant dream....

Heather!!!! Thank goodness you showed up...was going to send the Mounties out to get you. Ooops...guess the Mounties are Canadian...maybe the CHAPs!!! How goes it? Write me!!!

Christina...that kerrii looks absolutly cudley (except for the sticky stuff). Ha. That is a most amazing picture.
Ann...that flower doesn't look real. Ha. Looks like some architectural experiment, or a giant reptillian bird beak.

Ann, LOVE your ceropegia! Did you check out miles2go ? -joanne

Never mind Ann, I just checked and they don't have ANY any more :~( -joanne

Here is a horrible photo of one of my favorite hoyas in the world...and one of the most difficult, for me - H. elliptica. She bloomed!!

Thumbnail by AlohaHoya
Chowchilla, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh WOW, Carol. That is not a horrible photo at all!! It think it is nicely done, just a little dark. Meanwhile, congrats on such a beautiful bloom. The leaves are cool too - they look like a turtle shell.

Well, my ceropegia opened today, and I would not normally ever post a non-hoya on this site, but I really am proud of this. It hasn't bloomed in about 4 years, so I am just thrilled. Besides, it is a relative ....

Here's a picture of the newly-opened bloom.

I think that is a GREAT shot, Carol. How do you gals get that black background like that? Beautiful bloom too.
Ann...that flower is fascinating. I only have the "woodii" one. It blooms, but I am not good at such close up shots.
