Hi All - Does anyone know how long it takes for a pepper plant to start bearing fruit? I have had my plants in the ground for about two months now. They have not grown very much at all. I see a few blooms, but no fruit yet. Any ideas for helping them along?

Ruby, I have no idea, but there's a Peppers forum :)
Thanks Fly - I will check it out.

Ruby, If you are seeing blooms they need to be pollinated (most peppers.) Ants and bees and other various insects help. My pepper plants bloom for about 2 days and then the edibles start forming. All in all it as the bloom dies the pepper forms. the two come hand in hand together. If your blooms die off and fall to the ground look inside the flower area where the bllom fell from and see if you notice a light to medium colored bulb (that is the fruit-pepper) water well and watch to see if it sets.

Thank you so much niviac. I will be going outside a little later this morning to take a peek or I might decide not to go out. We are having heat warnings here this week. They tell you NOT to go outside unless absolutely necessary. I gave everything a great big drink of water yesterday and we actually had a nice rainfall last night too. I am sure that things will be okay today, in terms of watering anyway.
Actually, what I did yesterday may either help or kill the peppers. I took them out of the ground and potted them with some miracle-gro garden soil. I am hoping that the nutrient rich soil will help them get going.
I guess if the only problem I am having this week is that my peppers aren't growing, I am doing quite well. ha-ha.
Again, thank you for reply and I will let you know how it goes with them.

Thank you for reminding me of Pepper Forum Flygirl. I will post there also and see what I can find out.
