I can't believe it....

Just checked out the threads that I started and there are 199 of them!! I honestly had no idea I was so chatty!!! But what a fantastic idea - a great way to get instant answers to all those queries I had instead of searching mindlessly for them. Have I been asleep? How long has this been available? Wow, thanks Dave, this is terrific! I was just wondering what topic I could post that would round me up to 200 and uumm...I just got the message....lol! Have a great evening all!

I show that I started 141 Threads! 22 of them recieved 0 Zero comments! Guess those just didn't interest anyone. That is 6.4 percent of what I had to say or show was of no interest and I am afraid to count those that only had one reply!! :-}

Well it may not have been lack of interest, it may be that you worded it so eloquently that there was nothing more to add.

Zany - don't let it bother you. I know how you feel when no-one bothers to respond. Like Baa said, you had probably said it all and it didn't need any further clarification. Sometimes a vast amount of people who view a thread don't even bother to say thanks, especially when you provide them with a really good link. On the other hand, the fact that it has been viewed so many times means you actually held their interest. But putting the negative aside, a lot of people are also very shy and would rather lurk than join in. When I see that someone has a 0 view, I try to put in my 2 cents worth, just so they don't think they are being ignored. Don't forget also, that old adage, one man's meat is another man's poison. We don't all hold the same interests, even in plants etc. I thought surely there must be loads of people out there who would be interested in opening up a hydrangea forum. Not so!! - but I haven't checked out my post this afternoon. The word is diversification :-)

You are very sweet! I am not offended or feeling ignored! Much too thick a skin for that! Actually it was an interesting study! I really enjoy all the posts here and have often read posts myself without taking time to respond to them for one reason or another. Sometimes because no comment is required or because I simply have nothing to add to the Thread or do not have an answer for a question being asked or because what I have to say would be non constructive or even destructive and I choose to keep such things out of print and not spread my negative thoughts. What I found most interesting though was not that I responded to so many posts but that I had initiated so many! I always thought of myself as the quiet type! After reviewing my posts I feel I got to know me a bit better and must admit my image of self has drastically altered over the years!

Great comments Zany!! I also refrain from posting sometimes, even though I want to!! Thought the better and peaceful course was to keep my lips tightly buttonned!! I too was surprised at the amount of threads I had initiated - hence the reason for this thread :-)

If I look at a thread I often do not reply because I also have no comments that I feel would add any real knowledge. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who take the time to add their knowledge or opinions to the threads. I have gardened for forty years and have been amazed at all the things I have learned by wandering through old threads. Some old threads like good books are "Classics" and should never be discarded.

How much storage room do you have Dave? Will all the worlds electrons be someday tied up in old threads stored for posterity? Truly then knowledge will become the universal force! Yegads!! Talk about a wandering mind!!LOL

Grazdpa_Jack: Storage? No problem. We have so much storage, we could have 10,000 posts a day for 10 years and not fill up.

And, when we do fill up, I'll just buy another hard drive for a measly $100.

I have looked at a few posts since yesterday, and i have wonderd why they havent had a reply, but i havnet been in any position to answer them either, and most people will not reply just for the sake of it, it does seem a bit rude at times, but i dont think it is intended to be.

Gosh this has turned into a lot of fun. Dave I can hardly believe I have typed so much - I feel a little miffed thinking I am almost the biggest gas bag here. ROFL!!!
