gardening on concrete slabs

You mean other than pots? You could have a raised garden box made. My son-in-law made a wooden garden planter (box) to plant his veggies in one year and it was a great success. He could have placed the planter anywhere he wanted to. His box garden thrived!

There is a method called No dig gardening. This involves placing soil, over newspaper, usually on the ground, and planting, but don't know if it would work on concrete.

Hi, Dooley - Are you ready for this? The local school had an area
which was covered with old and degenerated concrete. They wanted
a place for the children to run and play, but there was no money for
busting up and hauling away the cement.

Solution? Truckloads of dirt, right on top of the old cement, sodded
with St. Augustine grass. It's doing great, looks wonderful, and the
kids love it for rolling around in. Hope this helps.
