Ahh! Those were the days.

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

What is that white stuff? lol

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I hear ya! It's been over 100 degrees here for a couple days. Hot, windy and DRY!

Everything is drying up and there's been lots of fires. Days like this I almost look forward to snow.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Yuk!!! I believe I'll just enjoy what the Lord has given us. I will say the heat makes us think ahead. Work outdoors early...put the digital camera outside to warm up so the lens doesn't fog when I try to take plant photos, things like that.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

NO NO NO i love the 90s and dont miss that snow at all!!!!!

send me your heat-suppose to be 96 today-YAHOOOOOOO!
the pool water is 85! ;)

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I love the summer too, but hate to be inside when it gets to hot to do anything but water. That picture just looked so refreshing after a day in the heat!!! But I guess without the snow I wouldn't enjoy so as much!!

Lumberton, TX(Zone 8b)

danes, thanks for the reminder that it's not always hot. That's hard to keep in mind in the summer down here when you're frying eggs on bricks in the back yard.

How marvelous ! Thank you so much. When I clicked
to enlarge the picture, I just sat here with my mouth open.
A cool breeze came into this room out of nowhere, and
I could even smell that cold and crisp air. I miss Chicago
winter's. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I printed the picture and hung it above my 'puter :o )

luvsgrtdanes - I'm about an hour north of you and yes, it has been brutal! I was almost late for work this morning so that I could water my containers and a few of the newer things. They said on channel 6 this a.m. that it would hit 101 today. I have been checking the weather channel while here at work, and the highest I saw was 95.

Keep cool!

DFW area, TX(Zone 7b)

It's 105 right now in the devil's back yard.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

It's a bit cooler here today, but still hot. I just heard on the news that every state EXCEPT North Dakota hit the 90's today. I think they should have been here. My thermometer said 96.

I really wish we'd get a good rain. The whole country looks terrible, and I'm afraid lots of farmers are going to be out of business after this year. :(

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

Mahnot, I grew up in central Illinois and the winters were brutal, but I do miss the fall.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Mahnot you are so welcome!!

suzieq2761 I think we reached 97

My next door neighbor is from Texas and says this is nothing...
Yikes...

We are actually lucky here with our winters compared to some other places. Seems our city comes to a stand still when we get a big storm!! People run to buy shovels and salt like it never snowed before!! LOL I think it starts snowing in Buffalo in September!!

I still love the summer no matter how hot it gets.

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

Loved the picture. I'm here in Pittsburgh, Pa and we are having about the same weather as Philly. Just yesterday I was thinking back to the cool, crisp fall days and how much I love that time of year. Although I wouldn't want to rush the seasons...as I get older time goes by so much faster than when I was young. Anybody else feel this way?

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

OH Yeah!! It felt like summer lasted forever when I was a kid. No amount of heat stopped us!!

Poquoson, VA(Zone 7b)

A friend sent me this link some time ago. For those of you who want to cool off...

I saw that before and it reminded me how lucky Philly really is!!

BackyardZoo - That is absolutely amazing.
I just wanted to cool off, as in the top photo.
This is almost terrifying.

I am ready for fall to arrive. My favorite time of year, warm during the day and cool at night. Clean crisp air. The smell of leaves and the colors. I am not a summer person at all. Never have liked it. Fall first, then winter...let it snow let it snow let it snow, spring then summer. I'm ready to cozy up by the fire and do some snugglin!
