Al - is that white one with the yellow center a dahlia? Very nice - that would be a great flower in the border.

Beachwood, OH

Pixie I meant to tell you too - those daylilies are wonderful. I have one of the "Candy" series but I don't know which one. It has bloomed its fool head off this year.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

My Custard Candy has too, I just love having blooms for a month at a time!
Got a picture of your Candy?

Andrea,

Pixie - those daylillies got you working to catch them all blooming I bet.

Somebody grows dahlias like I grow lilies!!!!!!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm glad to see your garden, Al. I've been wondering how much space you have for your dahlias. Sounds like you have other spots as well? I think I should dig up the littlest one of mine and put it into a pot so I can get it more sun. Tomorrow.

Nap, I'm glad you 2 connected. The 47? Well "Dave" was obviously taken at this website and there were 46 generations of Dave before me. NOT REALLY, 47 used to be a number that always showed up for me (address, Soc. Sec, phone etc) Not a great story

Gram, I read "wet willies" somewhere. Crocket's book?

Al, I planted about 2 dozen of your dahlias today. About 4" tall. Hope I can still make up for lost time. Did the same with lupine & hollyhocks today. Held off on columbine & foxglove that I sowed at the same time. Still so tiny.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I hope so Dave, I think I gave away those at the UMW Roundup and would like to see them.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Al, You gave me seeds you don't have yourself? Now I really feel guilty!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I might have one hidden somewhere we'll see. I got them free and have the Giant hybrids mix I saved. I gave away a lot of dahlias at the roundup - it will be interesting to see if any pictures show up of them.
Don't feel guilty, you must have gotten better germination than I did - I think I got 6 or 7 to come up.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Thanks. I feel absolved. But I really do still think I'll have a pic for you by the end of August.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Great - I am going to enter them into plantfiles and could use a pic.

Hi all, I know there is a new thread started but I wanted to finish answering this one before moving on to the other-

Grampapa, It looks like Red Volunteer in the photo, But it's kind of hard to tell, I have Red Volunteer plus many other red varietys and they almost all look the same to me. Have you bought a Red Volunteer at one time or another?? If so, Then there is a real good chance that thats what it is if you lost the tag on it..

Pixie, Thank's So Much for the Welcome back!!! My Brother In Law has recently gotten killed in a motorcycle accident thats part of why I haven't been posting much.
Enjoyed your DL grouping shots! Very nice! And of course, All are beautifull!

A yankee cat, I agree with Pixie, Great Looking Tiger Lilies!

Grampapa, Anitabryk2, Alyrics, And Kayellen, Thankyou So Very Much!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Me too, Iris. It's always difficult when someone is taken out of our lives, but to have it happen in such a tragic way must be devastating. I'm so sorry.

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

Thankyou Nap, The worst part is that it was caused by a young 21 year old that decided to pass another car on a corner and went head on into my BIL's motorcycle, He never had a chance.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

So sad.

Plus, the 21 year old will never erase that view from her memory. And it will haunt her for a very long time.

Her parents. His parents. Families. Friends. There are many souls touched by this.

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

Yes there are.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Is this the new thread?

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

No.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Al, It goes 4, 5, 6, then 7.

Or did you go backwards because 6 is afraid of 7?
