First, let me apologize if this is very old hat for most of you...I am a new gardener in Northern Georgia. A weeping cherry I planted last October has one of those huge cocoon like nests developing in it. I've heard that they might be catepillars or spiders, they might becalled "Ugly Nests"...very apropos! Or, Fall webworm? Can anyone give me a few tips on what to do, any help woul be greatly appreciated! Sorry I don't have a picture.
Newbie needs help with tree infestation.
Could they be tent worms? My weeping cherry is loaded with Japanese Beetles.
Thank you for your response linjasar! From the description I read of tent worms in another forum, I think they are more likely fall webworms. I have also had a lot of Japanese Beetles. I've been able to keep a handle on them with a Neem Oil spray. I've sprayed every week and after each rain. They've still done a little bit of damage, but nothing like on my neighbor's tree.
