Coneflower forum

I would definitely have this as a favorite . Big City Al sent me seeds last year. I had really good luck with some of them. I have truly been amazed at the different flowers.

Does that mean we don't get to see Al in his conehead? Dave, you caved too soon!

P.S. Al, Does Cherokee Sunset overwinter?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I'll try to come up with something Suzy. All my hirtas overwintered last winter - but I wouldn't count on it every year. I save seeds just in case.

Okay Thanks, I kinda wish they wouldn't. I planted them way too close together. But they are my favorite. too.

I live in Orlando Florida and planted some purple coneflower seeds in early April. I got them as a free sample seed packet from www.4imprint.com. I planted them first in plastic sectioned ‘egg’ carton type containers About two weeks ago I planted them in the ground when they got bigger. They are about six inches tall. They get about four hours of sun a day. How long will it take to get about 18 inches? Will they bloom next spring? They are in shade when it’s the hottest part of the day They look good but I guess they are not real fast growers
