Kaydid nymph?

Burlingame, CA(Zone 9a)

I've found quite a few of these little guys crawling around on my roses and escallonia. What are they? Good guys or bad guys? They are really small, no more than a quarter inch at most. The only information I could find on the web was that it might be a katydid nymph. I'd love confirmation please before I break out the WMD.
Many thanks

it actually looks more like a grasshopper nymph, but it isn't good for roses, i know that! LOL

WGN,
I dont know WHAT that is, but I bet it would work GREAT at the end of a fly rod in a nice trout stream, ;) :) lol.

LOLOL - well whatever it is, if it's still there tomorrow it's toast!

Bluelytes - there is an evil streak running straight through you :D Today my 10 year old son had great fun creating his own White Circle of Death. Gross.
