i have shinny gold bugs the shape of ladybugs on some of my plants outside....what are they???
They eat from the bottom of the leaf...no picture yet
gold bugs
My guess is that they are tortoise beetles (which seem to be popular lately).
Here's a link to some pictures of them... http://bugguide.net/node/view/40795/bgpage
If that is what they are, I talk about them in this thread... http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/617574/
I had the same bugs eating my (ornamental) sweet potatoe vines. I make a tea from Copenhagen chew and sprayed the leaves.... no more gold bugs (tortoise beetles). They come back when it rains.. but atleast the plants have a turn to regenerate.
Thank you for your help......they seem to have left for now..but it is raining today so i expect another vist..
