What is this plant?

Springfield, MO(Zone 6b)

I asked this question on the foliage forum also... hope it's okay to ask it in two places. I bought this at Walmart with no tag and they didn't know the name. I need to know so I can find out if it's poisonous to cats. Any idea what it is?

Thanks,
Ellianor :)

4 o'clock plant or mirabilis jalapa http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/92/index.html

Ellianor it is not harmful to cats, and does best planted outside where it could get full sun and bloom. It smells wonderful and should be planted where you pass often.
It will most likely bloom all summer.

Thanks for the info! Someone else said it was a purple knight. I suppose either way I have it in a horrible place...inside a 3rd story apt with very little sun and no yard. Poor plant :( I may have to give it to someone who can provide it some sun.
