Stink bug woes!

Longview, TX(Zone 8a)

I searched the forums and couldn't find any suggestions for getting rid of stink bugs. They're eating everything...not just my veggie garden but they're all over my flower garden as well. HELP!!

If you don't mind chemical pesticides, I use orthenex insecticide/fungicide on ornamentals. For your veggie garden you can use Pyola, found at Gardens Alive.

Greenie67, shaking the plants works well with stink bugs because they fall off and then you can kill them. Insecticidal soap is good for veggies. Do you have onions planted in your plants? Most bugs don't like them. But then, you risk chasing away the beneficials.

"I watched"... I totally understand. I'm pretty "zen" at heart but there are some things I will watch breath their last...fireants and stink bugs are among them!!

Too bad you don't have any "good" stink bugs - and yes they do exist. Predatory stink bugs are one of the few things that will eat the bad stink bugs. The main kind in our area are called Spined soldier bugs. They are voracious little predators that can eat things even 3 times their size.
