I wonder if anyone uses his concoctions for pests, diseases, tonics, and fertilizers? How does it work for you? He promises a lot.
J. Baker's natural solutions
I agree with an organic approach to garden maintenance and some of Jerry's stuff makes sense from an organic perspective but some are simple hog wash....
If you understand organics - you can understand some of his recipes.... and sometimes there are organic alternatives that are cheaper than the ingredients in his recipes.
Like beer for instance... beer is great for your lawn, but its better in your stomach. Drink the beer and then pee on your compost pile...

Amen.
Yes indeedy. I was into Baker's stuff when I first started gardening but it got to the point where thats all I was doing was mixing stuff. Stirring & mixing....stirring & mixing. Sort of like one of the 3 witches in Macbeth. I still have hose end sprayers for anything you can imagine. Separate sprayers with different mixtures in 'em. Soap, cola, beer....you name it. Some of his stuff is legit, some is hooey. (IMHO) If you're going the beer route....by all means buy cheap.
