The bugs I see most in my garden are ants--big and small, red and black. I see them crawling over my plants and I wonder if they are farming aphids.

My question is, how obvious are aphids? I inspect my plants close up daily and haven't seen any clusters of crawling bugs (knock wood).

I also found this link about ants and aphids that is informative and has a pic of an aphid being "milked" by an ant, which I find gross but informative. I also found the whole site very funny:
